Hammond is a minor antagonist of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. He is a slave-trading pirate captain and former member of the Jad Karadin gang.
Biography[]
In the future, Hammond was one of Jad Karadin's partners and a member of his gang of mercenaries. Some time later, Jad Karadin's gang took over the job of killing a witcher named Aiden as debt collectors. According to Jad, when he asked Aiden for his swords to pay off the money he spent, Aiden became furious and ended up dying. Because of this, an argument breaks out between Jad and Vienne, where Jad blames Vienne for killing Aiden, who lost her nerve from a sniper position and shot him in the eye. Then Jad's gang broke up due to disputes between Jad and Vienne.
After the disbandment of his gang, Hammond went to Skellige where he founded his own band of pirates in the Faroe Islands. At one point, Hammond and his gang capture the village of Trottheim in the Faroe Islands, where it becomes their base for their raids. Hammond and his team gained fame as the most dangerous pirates next to Morkvarg's crew by robbing, pillaging and mass kidnapping Skellligian victims, making them slaves and often trading them for sale.
Although his former gang is disbanded and he has no contact with his former allies, he sometimes has contact with its leader Jad Karadin. Hammond wanted to make a deal with him because Jad was still successful in business in Novigrad. He wanted a partnership with Karadin to sell the looted valuables, but Jad sent him a letter in which he refused to continue contact with him because he was no longer a bandit.
Geralt, looking for Jad Kaderin, went to Skellige to Hammond, who knows where Jad is. And when Geralt reaches Hammond, he sees him and his crew praying to his goddess Melitele on the top of a small mountain in the Faroe Islands. Hammond is in the middle of a prayer, honoring the goddess Melitele and sacrificing his loot if the goddess gives him another victory. Geralt interrupts him and his crew to pray to know where Jad is but Hammond shouts to Geralt that the people of Novigrad are rejecting his business and urges his men to kill the witcher, but Geralt kills both of them.
