Hi... I'm Hangry... I'm a pig! Ribs are my joy! I haven't had a meal in forever! Come closer... Is that? Are those... Ribs?!? You look delicious. Ya mind if I put a little barbecue sauce on ya? I got my own recipe. [snorts while laughing]
~ Hangry after sensing Doug's ribs.

Hangry the Pig is an antagonist in the episodic horror survival game Dark Deception, serving as a major antagonist in the Chapter 4 level Mascot Mayhem.

He was voiced by Chris Jai Alex, who also voices Lucky the Rabbit.

Appearance[]

Hangry is an anthropomorphic pink pig with a heavy body set, big white eyes, and a white t-shirt reading "I Love Ribs".

When in his nightmare form, his right eye becomes red and robotic as his lower jaw is removed to reveal a robotic lower jaw with dark-yellow, humanoid teeth.

Personality[]

Hangry initially appears to be a friendly animatronic mascot, but is actually a bloodthirsty killer robot. He also has an undying love for BBQ ribs, and will do anything to get his hands on them.

Biography[]

Chapter 4[]

Mascot Mayhem[]

Act II[]

Hangry greets the player at the Zone 2 checkpoint, appearing excited to have seen a meal in "forever". He then examines the player up close, and squeals at sensing the player's ribs. Hangry finally asks the player if he could pour his own BBQ sauce recipe, before laughing menacingly and disappearing.

As Doug collects shards, Hangry will initially stay hidden. At random, however, Hangry will burst out of a wall near Doug in an attempt to catch him by surprise, killing them on contact. Should Doug dodge his ambush, Hangry will then chase him; though he is the slowest when chasing Doug down, Hangry and his clones can still burst through walls to try and ambush Doug again while chasing him. Hangry can also burst through closed doors, making this an ineffective strategy. However, if Hangry chases Doug for a certain amount of time, he will stop to catch his breath, allowing Doug to widen the gap between him and Hangry. If Doug is out of his line of sight, Hangry will then wander around, resuming chase with Doug should he catch sight of him again.

Hangry and his friends approach the player after they attempt to activate the breaker switch. Hangry is the first to take note of the player's actions, but is too slow to stop the oversighted wet electrical hazard. He and the others are fried to their Robo forms because of this, but appear to go inactive. Hangry confirms they are not entirely finished, as he creepily follows the player with his eyes.

Act III[]

Hangry and the JJG ambush the player when they attempt to collect the last of the shards. He shames the player, taking indicative note of how the hazard broke off his mouth to reveal a endoskeleton jaw underneath.

Hangry will pursue the player for as long as he can catch up, bashing through the sheer metal walls. He is actually required to break the walls in order for the player to access a hidden secret.

Hangry and the JJG are destroyed by Doug when he activates the crusher. Malak gives him and his friends life again where he shouts with appraisal about his new body and how he'll be able to eat way more ribs with it. In one collective, Joy Kill assaults the player until they manage to escape the theme park, only to be stopped in place.

Final Act[]

A Hangry clone violently attacks the player alongside a clone Lucky and Penny, as a punishment for almost escaping the theme park. Malak marks the player's mind and then orders Hangry to toss the player into the escape portal anyway, to his large disappointment, as he thought he was told he could consume him.

After Mascot Mayhem[]

A Hangry spawns from Malak's clone as a nightmare at ninth portal. He doesn't do anything except just stand there during the cutscene.

Chapter 5[]

It has been confirmed by the producer that Joy Joy Gang will appear again in Chapter 5 against Doug. It's currently unknown what they will do.

Tips[]

  • After a while, Hangry will get tired from running, so use this time to escape.

Trivia[]

  • After being electrocuted, Hangry's eye will continue to follow Doug.
