Hansel and Gretel are a pair of stocky blonde kids who both have a permanent angry look on their faces. Biography[]
Past[]
Before the events of the game, the world of Fairytaleland was maintained by Mother Goose, who kept all the different stories balanced so that children across the world would be able to sleep well. Unfortunately, Fairytaleland would soon come to chaos when Hansel and Gretel decided to kidnap Mother Goose so that they could gain control over the land, thus causing many of the inhabitants to become corrupted and threaten the world's children with twisted nightmares. Afterwards, Hansel and Gretel would use their newfound power to turn their land's forest into a giant cake while commanding an army of living food and silverware.
Fractured Furry Tales[]
After hearing of the corruption caused to all the fairy tales, Bubsy the Bobcat decided that he had to set things right and protect the world's children by going to Fairytaleland to investigate and fix the altered tales. After going through most of the stories, Bubsy is able to make it to what was once a forest in Hansel and Gretel's story, where he is attacked by Custard Pie Machines, Cutlery Men, and living cookies and doughnuts. After managing to pass through most of the sweet-covered area, Bubsy finally comes across the caged Mother Goose, after which Hansel and Gretel teleport near them to prevent Bubsy from setting her free, and attempt to kill him by jumping in the air to throw exploding apples. After Bubsy jumps on their heads a number to times, Hansel and Gretel shrink away into nothingness, seemingly killing them for good. This causes Mother Goose's cage to open, after which she waves goodbye to Bubsy as she floats away to restore Fairytaleland back to normal.
Trivia[]
- Hansel and Gretel are, along with the Mad Hatter, the only bosses in Fractured Furry Tales to be directly based on existing characters from established fairytale characters.
- Unlike the previous games, Fractured Furry Tales didn't include a comic at the start of the game manual to explain the plot. Instead, the plot of the game is explained throughout the manual. This makes Hansel and Gretel the only main antagonists of a Bubsy game to not have their full personality and motives explored.
