Harriet Arbinger

Harriet Arbinger is a minor antagonist in Doctor Who serving as a major antagonist of the Series 14/Season 1 (2024) finale. She was a sleeper agent who acted as a Harbinger for Sutekh's return.

She is played by Genesis Lynea.

History[]

Harriet was a UNIT archivist stationed at UNIT HQ in London in 2024 as head of the archive, she was new to UNIT alongside scientific advisor Morris Gibbons. She initially acted normally but, as Sutekh was beginning to manifest, she began a monologue about him, prompting Kate Stewart to claim that she was possessed. However, remembering one harbinger, the Doctor realized that Harriet was another one. After listing several Gods from the Pantheon, Harriet described Sutekh as "the mother and father and other" of all of them as well as the "God of all Gods". As she gave her monologue, a tear fell from Harriet's eye. Shortly after Sutekh's arrival, both Harriet and Susan Triad mutated into an undead form that presented a bone-like structure around their eyes which were now coloured red, this form was later described as undeath by Harriet.

Harriet piloted the TARDIS for Sutekh as he chased answers about Ruby's mother. The Doctor later managed to use a whistle to regain control of the TARDIS, and at his command, the Heart of the TARDIS emitted a blast of energy that vaporized Harriet, pushed the TARDIS to the other side of the room, knocking back over Sutekh's Angel's of Death and blasting Sutekh off of the ship. She did curiously wonder what the blaster was, but realized too late.

Trivia[]

Harriet shed a tear during her monologue after Sutekh arrived. This seems to imply that she was a sleeper agent who only realised her true nature as a Harbinger when Sutekh made his return.
