| ~ Harriet to Team RWBY after being ordered to abandon Mantle |
Harriet Bree is an ally turned enemy of the web series RWBY. A member of Ace-Ops, Harriet was initially happy to have Team RWBY and Team RNJR on their side. This changed when Ironwood learned that not only was Salem immortal, but the two teams refused to go with Ironwood's plan to abandon Mantle in favor of protecting the Staff of Creation.
Harriet is voiced by Anairis Quiñones, who also voiced Yelena in Attack on Titan.
Biography[]
Harriet was among Ace-Ops when they arrested Qrow and the kids. However, her demeaner changed when she realized who they were. After a debriefing on the situation with the Amity Coliseum project, Harriet helped get Team RWBY and RNJR qualified to be licensed Huntsmen and Huntresses.
As the teams continued to work together, they began prep work on the Amity Communications Tower, to replace the destroyed CCT in Vale, and all other CCT as well. Eventually it was discovered that Jacques Schnee was working with the previously believed to be deceased Arthur Watts. Arthur had promised to rigg the election so Jacques would win, in exchange Jacque would give Arthur the credentials needed to hack into the Atlas Mainframe. As Qrow and Marrow had begun transfer of Watts' ally, Tyrrian Callows, Salem had directly challenged Ironwood, where Ruby reluctantly revealed that Salem couldn't be killed. Angered at this revelation, Ironwood decided to use the Staff of Creation to send Atlas higher into the sky, leaving Mantle to fend for itself.
Ruby attempted to get a message out to her other allies, only for Ironwood to cut communications and declared Ruby's team traitors. The remaining members of the Ace-Ops faced off against Team RWBY, with Harriet personally fighting Ruby. Ruby attempted to get Harriet to see reason, only for Harriet to coldly rebuff her. Harriet was defeated when she ran at Ruby, only for Weiss to conjure an ice wall, knocking her out.
With Marrow dead by Tyrrian using Qrow's weapon, Qrow and Robyn Hill were arrested, as Salem herself lead a massive invasion of Grimm to Atlas and Mantle. Because of this, Ace-Ops were frequently pulled back and forth between the frontlines and Ironwood's orders. One such orders was Ace-Ops to apprehend Penny Polendina, who had recently become the Winter Maiden. However, despite their skills, Ace-Ops was no match for Penny's powers. While returning to the frontlines, Ace-Ops, now joined by Winter Schnee as their commanding officer, arrested the group of Yang, Ren, and Jaune, who were attempting to rescue the now captured Oscar. Harriet angrily refused to help them, claiming that everyone was replaceable. Winter, who had begun to see Ironwood's decent into madness, granted Yang's team passage to Monstra, the whale Grimm that served as Salem's mobile base, against Harriet's belief.
As Yang's group was escaping, now joined by the now reformed Emerald and Hazel, Ace-Ops were given the orders to plant a bomb at Monstra to damage it. This however wouldn't come to pass as Ozpin's weapon, Long Memory, stored several centuries of kinetic energy blew it up instead. With Salem temporarily dead by Hazel's sacrifice, Ironwood attempted to hold Yang and the other hostage to get Penny, only for Harriet to bring up that Winter had let them go. Angered, Ironwood would get the edge he needed upon hearing that several autopiloted ship from the SDC were on the way to evacuate Mantle.
Ironwood ordered the ships to be shot down, where he threatened to use the bomb originally meant for Monstra on Mantle if Penny didn't open the Vault. Harriet was shown to be the only one in the Atlas Military as a whole willing to go with the plan. Whereas several members were against the idea, but too frightened of Ironwood to speak up. Marrow, being the new guy on the team, didn't have such reserves and openly spoke up about it.
Ironwood would have killed Marrow, had Winter not claimed to have thrown Marrow in the bridge. Getting in contact with Weiss, Winter learned that Ruby's group had planned to use the Staff of Creation to save Penny from Arthur's virus which would have caused her to self-terminate. Feigning continued allegiance to Ironwood, helped Team RNJR defeat Ironwood, while Marrow held down the remaining members of Ace-Ops when they went to arrest Qrow and Robyn who tried to stop Ironwood. With the Staff used, Atlas began to fall into Mantle, where Ruby used it to create portals to Vacuo.
However Arthur, now working with Cinder, hacked several Paladins and had them attack Winter's group, giving Harriet the time needed to deliver the bomb over Mantle, arming it. Vine would appear before her, and attempted to get her to see reason. Harriet continued to insist on loyalty to Ironwood, which Vine began to see differently too. Qrow would get on the airship, which began to take damage, and was also being hacked by Watts too, where Vine was shot from the airship. With another airship, Vine and Elm were able to catch up, begging her not to use it on the still evacuating city. Demanding why they couldn't let her do her job, Elm shouted that they were friends, causing Harriet to finally see she was wrong. Unfortunately, Watts' hacking prevented Harriet from disabling the bomb.
With no other way, Vine used his semblance to wrap the bomb up, sacrificing himself, and saving everyone else.
