Harrison Novak is the main antagonist of The Rookie Season 7 episode "Darkness Falling". He is a serial killer whose murders discover the homicides off another killer.
He was portrayed by Noel Fisher, who also portrayed Dale Stuckey in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Jason Wheeler in Criminal Minds
Biography[]
As a teenager, Novak willingly put himself in Westview hospital to get help for his homicidal urges, but it failed. Three years ago, Novak attacked a woman in her home, violently choking her, but she managed to escape. He was taken to court, but he evaded prison, thanks to his Defense Attorney Wesley Evers. For several years, Novak abducted women and brought them to his home, where would torture and kill them. It is even implied that Novak raped his victims. He would also take pictures of his victims while he tortured them, before burying his victims in a vacant area in the woods. Unbeknownst to him, there was another killer burying his victims in his same area, using Novak's killings to hide his own. In total, Novak killed at least 8 young women.
Darkness Falling[]
He abducted a woman and drove on the highway, with her in the trunk but crashed his vehicle and promptly fled. Knowing the woman would be found by cops who would pursue him, Novak decided to have one last hurrah before getting arrested. He called Wesley, who was notified that the car was Novak and his culpability in the prior crimes, and told him that he might need his help like before, as Wesley told him that he was now an A.D.A., Wesley kept Novak on the phone while alerting his colleagues and his police detective wife of the call and was told to keep him on to track his location. At that point, Novak had disguised himself a delivery man to enter a college sorority house.
LAPD and Wesley traced Novak's call to the house, being worried he struck again and finding destruction inside. However, they found Novak being beaten horribly by his would-be victims, having underestimated them because they had taken self-defense. Novak was bloodied and maced to the point that he was begging the cops to save him. The cops arrested Novak while telling the girls they are more than welcomed to join the LAPD.
A bit later, he was brought into custody and taunted the police about not feeling remorse and also asking them if they felt sadness when they ate a burger. Novak, a narcissist, decided he wanted to become one of the greats, so he revealed the locations of his victims. While search dogs sniffed the area, they went somewhere else, shocking him. Turns out, there was another serial killer who was not a narcissist and used Novak's burial location to hide his murders. Due to this other killer, Novak was not the lead of the investigation anymore. Later on, it was discovered that the man was a guy named Liam Glasser, who visited Westview.
