Biography[]
The entity's presence is established early in the game when the protagonist, Jack, discovers a trail of mysterious footprints outside his rural home. It is heavily implied that these footprints belong to the Hat Man. Following these prints leads Jack through a cornfield to an abandoned house, where he finds the cursed doll inside a chest.
The entity itself makes its one and only physical appearance later in the game. During a thunderstorm, a knock is heard at the front door. Upon going outside to check, Jack briefly sees the tall, dark figure standing in the distance, which then vanishes.
