Haunted House is minor antagonist of the 2011 animated film La Leyenda de la Llorona and a supporting antagonist in its 2018 sequel La Leyenda del Charro Negro.
It is the home of Willy that get life thanks to Pecas that sprayed him with his magic gas, transform into monster to defend himself against Alebrije with Don Andres and kills them.
Biography[]
La Leyenda de la Llorona[]
That house, which used to be Willy's home, would have become a manufacturing workshop since Pecas took control of its owner, ordering him to create more dolls in there.
When Don Andrés and Alebrije had accounts to settle with Pecas after defeating the dolls on the island, he hid in Willy's house and sprayed a gas that covered the entire hut and transformed it into an immense monster. Under his servitude, the house would have Pecas safe inside and fulfill its objective of destroying the two heroes. Instances in which Don Andrés and Alebrije ran through the entire swamp without being crushed by the monster finally found their weak point, thanks to Alebrije spitting a flare in wood's house, they thought that the best thing would be to burn it inside. As they saw that the wood was flammable on fire, Alebrije continued to blaze at the door and burn inside, with Pecas inside. Because of the fire the house slowly receded towards the lake, sinking to the bottom with the vile doll.
In a matter of seconds Willy comes to the surface of the lake, and at the campfire, the two heroes, apologize to him for destroying his house while was possessed.
La Leyenda del Chupacabras[]
Has not returned to appear in this movie as in the previous one but is seen in a drawing from introduction of it, attacking Leo in the swamp of Xochimilco.
La Leyenda del Charro Negro[]
In the underworld, El Charro Negro had left Don Andrés and Alebrije captive inside the Haunted House (which is apparently an illusion), without letting them leave for any reason. For the second time both friends would have to manage to escape from the house, repeatedly forging the door so that they could be free but they had no success, although there was a moment when the house carelessly spat on them, and before they tried running caught them with his hands.
On another occasion, Don Andrés had the idea of doing a serenade in which he sang while Alebrije played the guitar, with the intention of putting the house to sleep. Falling asleep with the lullaby, Alebrije and Don Andrés would walk away without making much noise until the monster woke up to hear one of guitar strings break, expelling a gas that immobilized both friends and threw them back inside.
When Xóchitl and Evaristo escaped from their prison they went to the agave fields in search of Alebrije and Don Andrés. Right there, Evaristo told Xóchitl that his two friends were locked in that haunted house that looked normal at first, until it came to life when Chuy fed it with corn. As the two Sugar Skulls went to rescue their friends they climbed up the gutters of the house and found a chimney through which they would access, falling towards the boiler where they could enter. Inside they saw Don Andrés and Alebrije possessed ready to attack the Sugar Skulls, causing them to activate "the light of ethereal purity" and thus provoking the Haunted House to expel the heroes through the chimney. As soon as he got up, the house rushed against the team and could not devour them thanks to the fact that he had a shackle on his leg.
After Finado and Moribunda release Chuy from the magic shackle momentarily the Haunted House takes him and throws him away, interposing at hacienda entrance so that the team of heroes do not save Leo. When Leo is finally possessed by El Charro Negro, he leaves the hacienda and makes villains from past adventures disappear, including the Haunted House.
