The Haunted Orphanage Van Deer is a minor protagonist of the 2017 Cartoon Network animated TV series Villainous. It is a haunted mansion that has a life of its own and is inhabited by the ghosts of children.
It was voiced by Irwin Daayán.
Biography[]
Early life[]
In 1885, a German immigrant couple, Engel House Van Der Rohe and his wife Deenah Lindbergh, came to Yggdrasil County with a dream of building an orphanage, due to being unable to have children. Construction took five years, during the Red Eclipse phenomenon.
Once construction was completed in 1890, Engel died of unknown causes; shortly after his friend, Gordon Laverne, the caretaker who worked with the couple for more than 30 years, died while patrolling the mansion's maze. Both were buried on the grounds of the mansion, while Deenah slowly lost her sanity and disappeared without a trace shortly after such tragedies, some saying that she left the country and returned to Germany.
After the death of the owners, the neighbors and inhabitants of the village tried to demolish the house on several occasions, but they could not bring it down, since a supernatural force seemed to protect the house: the people who tried to destroy it were found in the forest near the mansion, traumatized, weeks after their arrival.
Despite the tragedy, it ended up becoming a true orphanage, taking care of the children who died and staying on their property, until now.
Boo!-Lldozing[]
After several demolition and vandalism attempts by heroes, villains and teenagers, I manage to scare them before they try, all except Bulldozer, a superhero in charge of demolishing the house. So, the House, Emilia and the ghost children were contacted by the Black Hat Organization, who offered to arrest the bulky hero in exchange for the deed to the property, and having no other choice, they hired their services.
Moments later, Dr. Flug, Demencia and 5.0.5 arrived to help them defeat Bulldozer, they gave him the deed and said goodbye to them, thanking him as they left.

- It is theorized that Engel is the Van Der orphanage but in his ghost form, although nothing is confirmed yet.
- It is almost similar to Constance Nebbercracker of the movie Monster House.
