~ Hayes as he is arrested. |
Hayes Cullinan is an antagonist in the Criminal Minds episode "Saturday". He was a stalker who stalked Elizabeth Wise and Billy Hanes.
He was portrayed by Stephen Gilliken.
Biography[]
Cullinan was a neighbor of Billy Hanes and Elizabeth Wise, who had a horrible break-up when Hanes wanted to push Wise into marriage. A closeted gay man, Cullinan developed feelings for Hanes, which became an obsession. Cullinan saw Wise as a rival, so he bugged her house and carved a hole under her bed to hide under so he could record her and Hanes having sex. Cullinan snapped after the break-up, sending various death threats to Wise when he saw an opportunity to ensure she'd be out of Hanes' life permanently.
Wise attended a hacking lesson under Penelope Garcia, so she took the opportunity to report the crime. She was horrified by the bugs, believing even more she was the target, so Garcia had her stay at Quantico until Cullinan was arrested. When the sex tapes revealed Hanes voice was louder, meaning Cullinan laid closer to Hanes' side of the bed, they questioned him, as he couldn't be spied on with a fourth floor apartment, compared to Wise's first floor apartment. Hanes remembered Cullinan, who lived on the second floor, trying to hit on him when talking about his Twitch streaming. Cullinan was arrested at his apartment, where he kept a shrine all over his closet.
Trivia[]
- Cullinan is inspired by the stalker of Susan Wilson, a woman whose home was riddled with video cameras set up by her neighbor to spy on and stalk her.
