Hazel Dobkins is a supporting antagonist in the 1992 neo-noir erotic thriller film Basic Instinct. She is an associate of Catherine Tramell and is a known serial killer herself.

She was portrayed by the late American actress Dorothy Malone.

Biography[]

Hazel Dobkins is a former housewife and mother to three children living in San Franciso. On January 10th, 1956, she was taken into custody at San Quentin prison after inexplicably murdering her entire family with a kitchen knife that she had received as a wedding present when accused of the crime, she didn't even bother to try and deny it.

Eight years later she was released from custody in 1963, sometime after this she would meet and become friends with the murder-mystery novelist Catherine Tramell who would use Hazel's story as the basis for one of her books.
