Hazel Haibach is one of the minor yet pivotal antagonists in The Mentalist TV show. She is Richard Haibach's sister. She is played by Lisa Darr.
Biography[]
One day, her brother Richard falls under police suspicion that he is involved in the murders of Ardilles and Laroche, as well as the kidnapping of Grace van Pelt and the attempted murder of her husband Wayne Rigsby. However, he has an alibi. At this time, Grace comes to her senses in some basement somewhere in the mountains. She manages to escape and turns to a random, as Grace thinks, passerby for help, who takes Grace to her home. However, it turns out that the "random passerby" is Richard's sister Hazel. She ties Grace up and waits for Richard. She is bored, so Grace manages to get her to talk. Hazel explains that Richard was abused by his father in his childhood. He did such things to Richard that Hazel does not even dare to say it out loud. Hazel herself could not protect Richard (and she is ashamed that she, as an older sister, could not protect her brother). Later, Richard was constantly suspected of something bad, and this finished him off. He decided to take revenge on the police, and Hazel decided to help him. They tracked down the police and killed two of them. Grace tries to dissuade Hazel from killing her. After all, Grace and Wayne have a child, and it would be unfair to make the child an orphan. But Hazel does not want to listen to her. At this time, Richard arrives and brings Wayne Rigsby and Patrick Jane with him. Rigsby is injured, and Richard tries to chop off Jane's fingers, while Hazel stands aside and laughs. However, Rigsby manages to stun Hazel and kill Richard. What happened to Hazel afterwards is unknown, but it is assumed that the police arrested her.
Personality[]
Hazel is a dead ringer for her brother Richard. She is just as sadistic, as she clearly enjoys watching her brother torture a man (and she was the one who brutally slashed Osvaldo Ardiles, albeit at his brother's instigation). But she loves her brother Richard very much and regrets not protecting him when his father was abusing him.
