The Heartless Fairies are the main antagonists of the Disney Twisted Tales book When You Wish Upon A Star. They are evil fairies who feed upon misery, fear and unhappiness.
Role in the book[]
The Heartless Fairies are first mentioned by Agate the Violet Fairy, who told Chiara Belmagio, the future Blue Fairy, about them. After that, they had to enchant Monstro, a sea monster created by Heartless Fairies, into a slumber.
The Heartless had also corrupted Stromboli and his father, Remo, but as his brother, Vito, was reluctant to follow in his father’s footsteps, the good fairies felt there was hope for him.
Another person the Heartless fairies had corrupted was the Coachman, who turned bad boys into donkeys at Pleasure Island, an island that the Heartless Fairies built.
When Ilaria Belmagio failed her audition, the Green Fairy, one of the Heartless, appealed to her, manipulating her against her sister, Chiara, and once she succeeded, she took out Ilaria’s heart and turned her into one of the Heartless, becoming the Scarlet Fairy.
When the Blue Fairy made Pinocchio real, the Scarlet Fairy attempted to make a deal with her, taking note that the good fairies weren’t meant to manipulate life. The rest of the Heartless came and tried to manipulate the Scarlet Fairy into destroying her own sister, but she instead got rid of the evil fairies.
The villains that the Heartless corrupted were thus punished; I.e. Stromboli was given nightmares and the Coachman was turned into a donkey.
