Heath Grice is a minor antagonist in the Black Clover franchise. He was a minor antagonist in the first saga, and in the third saga after he was revived.
He is a former member of the Eye of the Midnight Sun, assigned to find the Magic Stone in the forsaken realm. He committed suicide in the process and was then revived by Lucius Zogratis and turned into a paladin. He was then killed by Yosuga Musyogatake during the invasion of the Land of the Sun.
Personality[]
In battle, Heath is a cool-headed, calculated individual who can assess his opponent and launch counterattacks. Examples of this include his evaluation of Asta's skills and his carrying out of a move intended to slow Asta's forward motion as he approaches him.
Heath is not just exceedingly calculating but also extremely brutal. He believes that those who inhabit the Forsaken Realm are merely monsters deserving of little regard from those in positions of authority. This also causes him to denigrate and make fun of those he perceives as inferior. Additionally, he has no qualms about ending someone's life because he can execute anyone—including himself—calmly.
Despite this, Heath is seen to be extremely loyal, which is seen when he willingly kills himself to hide the secret of Patolli
Biography[]
Heath and three other mages are tasked one day to find something particular. Heath travels to Sosshi, which is in the Kingdom's Forsaken area. Heath murders Seihi, the village leader, when he attempts to hinder their objective. Afterward, he concludes that he must kill the people for them to accomplish their primary goal. To put them all to death, Heath and his companions gather the villagers in the center of the village.
When Heath notices someone interfering with his timing, he attacks, but this time, his blows miss, and his opponents survive. When one of Heath's subordinates brings up the fact that the mages are part of the Black Bull, Heath is unmoved. Asta, one of the knights, questions him about why he would want to kill someone. Rather than share his goal, Heath chooses to respond in a way that is prejudiced toward the residents of the Forsaken region. Then, to hit every one of them repeatedly and end the battle as quickly as possible, he blends his magic with the magic of his subordinates.
Heath is then ambushed by Asta, but he swiftly launches a counterattack and softens the hit by freezing the ground where Asta is standing. As he works to break Noelle's spell, he keeps trying to put Asta down. Magna unexpectedly joins the battle and throws many fireballs at him and his companions. Heath, seeing he is being outplayed, calmly stops the strike with his Ice Magic, only to realize that Asta is deflecting most of Magna's attacks back at them, launching a second round of attacks. Heath attempts to put out the attack's fire after realizing it won't go out, but he is shocked when Asta ambushes him once more. Heath is caused to faint by Asta's strike. He then commits suicide while being restrained
Years later, Lucius Zogratis gives Heath a purified demon power and resurrects him. He journeys to the Hino Country alongside the Paladins Yrul and Lily Aquaria. When the three descend to Goshu, they discover the town is empty. For Yrul to awaken and purify the five-headed dragon and release it upon the nation, Heath destroys the torii gate in the sea. Once the dragon's heads are destroyed by the Ryuzen Seven, Heath and Lily use their combined magic to unleash Endless Ice Fangs, which take out all five of the fighters. According to Heath, it's the most effective way.
Heath is taken aback by the coincidence of Asta hindering him once more after Asta arrives at the battlefield and eliminates Yrul, but Yosuga Musyogatake approaches Heath before Heath can launch an assault, allowing Asta to concentrate on Lily. To the Paladin's dismay, Heath continually attacks Yosuga with multiple frost fangs, but they cannot inflict any damage. For the benefit of Lucius's morally upright world, Heath will not lose. After revealing his Iron God of War spell, which ignores Heath's Ice Magic, Yosuga uses Zetten to slash Heath, killing the Paladin in the process.
