Heinrick Schillinger is a minor antagonist in the HBO series Oz.
Biography[]
Heinrick was a big supporter of the Aryan Brotherhood and raised his son Vernon Schillinger to have similar views. Despite this their relationship was always cold and Vern had much resentment for his father, preferring family friend Wilson Lowen who only tolerated Vern out of respect for Heinrick.
Despite the frosty relationship, Heinrick took in Vern's two sons Andrew and Hank when he was sent to prison, though according to Vern in a deleted scene, Heinrick never bothered much with them.
Season 2[]
Heinrick comes for a visit and tells Vern he has thrown Andrew and Hank out because they've been stealing his money to fund their drug addiction.
Vern is concerned, but Heinrick doesn't care and walks out as his son shouts at him to come back.
Season 3[]
Heinrick comes for another visit to tell Vern Andrew has been arrested for the murder of a black man. Vern is annoyed that Heinrick only bothered to arrange for a public defender and insists he get Andrew a real attorney. Heinrick won't do it though. telling Vern his kids are simply bad news.
Season 6[]
Schillinger's sister Greta comes to visit and asks Vern to come see their father as he has cancer and has come to be remorseful for the way he treated Vern. It is unclear if Heinrick didn't disown Greta like Vern did or if their reconciliation was recent. In any case. Vern refuses to forgive his father as he's hated him his whole life and sees no reason to stop now. Shortly after this, he is killed by Tobias Beecher.
