The Henchweasels are major antagonists of the 1985 Berenstain Bears cartoon as well as some of the books. They live in the underground Weaselworld who help their boss Weasel McGreed with his goal is to take over Bear Country "Lock, Stock, and Honeypot".
Villainous Acts[]
- In "The Trojan Pumpkin", their boss pay Raffish Ralph to give Papa Bear a magic pumpkin seed that grows into a big pumpkin. The weasels enter the pumpkin and build a cannon-equipped military fortress to conquer bear land. The weasel's combat stronghold is destroyed when Brother and Sister Bear use a stick as a wedge to tilt the pumpkin and make it collapse down a valley.
- In "The Fly Away Pizza", Their boss develops magic pizza powder and tells Raffish Ralph to present it to Papa Bear after learning about his pizza-twirling contest. Papa Bear sprinkles some powder on his pizza dough before the pizza-twirling contest, causing it to expand into a gigantic storm that destroys the fair and drives all the bears away. Brother Bear uses a remote to deliver pizza back to Raffish Ralph and the weasels after discovering the pizza storm is radio-controlled.
- In "Kong for a Day", their boss advertises in The Swindler's News seeking weird acts for his showbiz. Raffish Ralph reads his ad and mentions Bigpaw. When they realize Bigpaw wants to sing, they masquerade as talent agents and offer him a job, which is a trap for the weasels to kidnap and exhibit him. After many scissorbirds release him, he throws Weasel McGreed and Raffish Ralph into a marsh.
- In "The Wicked Weasel Spell", their boss calls Raffish Ralph to seduce Bigpaw into thinking the Bears are mosquitoes to invade Bear Country. Bigpaw attacks the cubs until Brother Bear sings his song, breaking the spell. Weasel McGreed and Raffish Ralph flee as Bigpaw roars.
- In "Save the Bees", their boss makes a bee-eating flower to eliminate bees and honey in Bear Country. He calls Raffish Ralph to force Mama Bear to cultivate and distribute flowers. After all the bees are eaten by the flowers, Weasel's plot fails when Brother and Sister Bear find that the flowers are sensitive to a skunk's spray and use Factual's crop duster to kill them.
- In "The Bigpaw Problem", the weasels activate the Great Grizzly fault, producing a major earthquake that threatens Bear Country. After Bigpaw stops the earthquake and saves Bear Country, the weasels fly out of the cave, confused as to what happened.
- In "The Great Grizzly Comet", the weasels pose as aliens to warn Papa Bear and the cubs that Grizzly's comet will devastate Bear Country. Papa Bear notifies Bear Country about the calamity, panicking everyone, and Raffish Ralph offers they sell their property to the weasels. After Actual Factual announces that Grizzly's comet is harmless, Weasel McGreed warns Bear Country again, causing mass panic. Brother Bear and Sister Bear discover that the little green bears were weasels in disguise and that the fake warning was one of their schemes to get the bears to sell their property and leave. Bigpaw attacks them and Raffish Ralph, exposing their scheme.
- In "The Raid on Fort Grizzly", their boss orders Ralph to visit its premises. After the tour, Raffish Ralph sends him a map and the weasels raid Fort Grizzly. While pursuing Raffish Ralph, Brother Bear and Sister Bear act as him and ask for a copy of the map, which he falls for. The Bear Family discovers that the weasels are digging tunnels everywhere to take all the golden honey in the fort, but an army of porcupines burrow underground and attack the weasels, leading them to flee in panic. They pursue Raffish Ralph, believing he betrayed them.
- In "The Hot Air Election", their boss suggests to Raffish Ralph, Papa Bear's campaign manager, that he sabotage their hot air balloon so the Bear family will fall from a great height, presumably killing all four of them. Raffish Ralph declines, calling his scheme "too evil" for him. Weasel McGreed then lies about changing his mind and sabotages the balloon with one of his weasels. His scheme fails as Papa Bear talks into the balloon, filling it with air and saving his family.
- In "Save the Farm", their boss decides to take over Bear Country piece by piece instead of all at once. The weasels then force Raffish Ralph to support him in buying an above-ground headquarters. Raffish Ralph buys Farmer Ben's farm after liking his kumquats. They buy the Windmill adjacent to Farmer Ben's property to blow corn blight and other dust into his crops after refusing to sell. Farmer Ben and the cubs find this and pull an emergency stop lever to stop the windmill, ending Weasel McGreed's final plan. After Raffish Ralph and Weasel McGreed tried to buy fruit one last time, Farmer Ben pursued them with fruit.
