|~ Hendricks referring to Spirit’s wild nature|
Hendricks is the main antagonist of DreamWorks' 40th full-length animated feature film, Spirit Untamed, the spin-off to the film Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. He is a horse wrangler and the archenemy of Lucky Prescott.
He is voiced by Walton Goggins, who also played Sonny Burch in Ant-Man and the Wasp, Shane Vendrell in The Shield, Billy Crash in Django Unchained, Lee Russell in Vice Principals, Stans in Predators and Mathias Vogel in Tomb Raider.
Hendricks is a wanted poacher who had been stealing animals and selling them.
Hendricks first appeared on the train with his gang. He and his gang captured the horses and take them in the train, with the exception of Spirit. Knowing Hendricks and his gang were wranglers, Spirit joins Lucky for his help as they enlist Pru and Abigail with their horses to start their journey to save the horses and beat Hendricks before he and his gang arrive the Heck Mountain.
However, Hendricks and the wranglers made it earlier than Lucky and his friends. Spirit goes on its own but was taken by the gang, Lucky and her friends follow the train where the wranglers board the horses at a boat, and will be auctioned off to be worked to death. The girls arrive too late to stop them but Lucky manages to save spirit and get onboard. Lucky and Spirit save the horses and subdued the wranglers, with Spirit kicks Hendricks off the boat. Eventually, Hendricks and his gang were arrested and taken away.
At first, Hendricks appeared to be very gentleman-like, saving Lucky from falling of a train at the beginning of the movie, but he is soon revealed to be a greedy, determined poacher.
- Spirit: Untamed was Goggins' first animated role.
