Henrika Domnathi is a vampire and a minor antagonist of the Innistrad: Crimson Vow storyline of Magic: the Gathering. She's known as the progenitor of the Domnathi bloodline of vampires, a bloodline that is considered dangerous even among the other families. She is known for consorting with demons and is rumored to have been the one-time lover of Griselbrand.
Description[]
Henrika is described as a very tall and thin woman normally wearing a cascading gown. She is notorious for conspiring with demons in order to drink their blood. To her, demon blood not only tastes better, it also grants her increased magical power. She also has the ability to shapeshift and can turn into a gray mist.
While each of the vampiric bloodlines on Innistrad have their own distinct characteristics, the Domnathi were known for bargaining with demons in exchange for their blood. The major bloodlines know the dangerous magical powers the Domnathi possess and in the past, this bloodline was subjected to many purges. Henrika leads the survivors of her bloodline and she keeps the names of those who she wishes to exact vengeance upon written in crimson text next to her heart. Many question if the progenitor of the Voldaren bloodline Olivia Voldaren is on that list, but that answer is currently unknown.
History[]
Henrika, Infernal Seer
While not much is known about Henrika's life as a human or about her early grasp with vampirism, she was present during the Travails, the time when Emrakul infiltrated the plane and the denizens of Innistrad had to work together to stop the eldrazi. While Olivia managed to bring the vampire bloodlines into a truce with the humans until the eldrazi threat was over, Henrika was the only one who didn't feel bound to that agreement. While the other vampires were fighting these eldritch horrors, Henrika was busy raising an army of unholy cathars to summon the powerful demon Ormendahl. She met resistance from the revered cathar Odric. Though he managed to stall her for a while and put up a good fight, she ultimately managed to transform him into a vampire before escaping with some heavy injuries.
After the Travails, Olivia invited Henrika to attend her wedding so she can both learn about her bloodline's type of magic and to mend their relationship. She didn't play a big role in Crimson Vows story, but she was seen attending Olivia and Edgar's wedding communing with other vampires with many doing so out of fear. She killed Relio Voldaren because he offended her.
