Henry Thorne is a supporting antagonist of the British soap opera Coronation Street, appearing only as a major antagonist in 2022.

He was portrayed by Dominic Mafham.

Biography[]

Henry Thorne was known to be a surgeon who worked at Weatherfield General Hospital in Coronation Street from the area of Manchester itself for a long time.

In 2022, Thorne's latest patient was local resident Peter Barlow as the latter needed a surgery to overcome his health issues as a result of his lifelong alcoholism. The surgery is successful and Peter is thankful of Thorne for his efforts. However, it soon turned out that Thorne had done a bet on Peter's surgery and that the result could've complicated the efforts that would've had a devastating outcome.

This is first discovered by Henry's new recruit Angie Bailey, who is urged by her boss to keep quiet about it. But she later tells both Peter and his wife Carla Connor the truth about Thorne's actions when the couple attempt to deliver a thank you present to him. Outraged, Peter goes to confront Thorne and they have a dispute. Thorne later begins to antagonize Peter and even tries to provoke him into a fight, but this is broken up by Peter's sibling Daniel Osbourne and their nephew Adam when they intervene to stop Peter for getting in trouble.

Eventually Peter manages to acquire evidence of Thorne's wrongdoing, but then Thorne learns that Peter's son Simon has unwittingly got his hands on it and manages to trick the lad into giving him the evidence. Thorne later disposes of the evidence and Peter is left fuming by the sudden turn of events, but then Angie later reports Thorne's wrongdoing to their superiors. Throne is later suspended and presumably fired from his job because of what happened. Thorne later threatens Angie after learning that she grassed him up, but she instead tells him off for his unethical actions.

Afterwards, Thorne is never seen again.
