Colonel Herbert Fedenia is a minor antagonist in The Punisher franchise, appearing as the main antagonist of the 1987 run issue "St. Paradines". Appearing to be a man who wishes the best for his cadets, it is soon revealed that Herbert Fedenia is a pedophile who forces cadets into appearing in pornography.
Biography[]
Fedenia runs St. Paradines, a military school for kids. Early on, it is shown that Fedenia allows the advanced students, who are still children, to be brutalized by the instructors.
Frank then meets Fedenia, and when he says that he doesn’t see any academic classes, Fedenia then states that cadets are required to learn history, latin, western philosophy, mathematics and ethics. Fedenia then states that boys as young as seven years old are enrolled in his school. He then later states that he will never let women inside St. Paradines, as according to him, women aren’t suited to fight.
Frank then leaves, and decides to investigate St. Paradines and sneaks inside the building at night. While at a door, Frank hears a child’s cry and decides to break in to find the source.
It is then revealed that Herbert Fedenia is a pedophile who forces his cadets to appear in child pornography and has them raped by the instructors. Frank busts in on Fedenia’s latest film where he appears to have two kids on a bed while two instructors are about to rape them. Fedenia orders Frank’s death, only for Frank to fight Fedenia’s goons off. Frank then breaks out of the school and announces what Fedenia has been doing to his young cadets while posing as a FBI agent.
Fedenia then orders one of his cadets to kill Frank, and when the cadet refuses, stating that he didn’t come to St. Paradines to be a criminal, Fedenia angrily smashes the boy with the butt of his gun and tries to kill him, stating that it is the only fate for cowards and mutineers. Frank then drops on Fedenia, and Fedenia, in the middle of a breakdown, yells at his cadets for “falling in line like a herd of sheep”. It is soon revealed that Fedenia has been hiding his activities from the children’s parents, as one kid tells him that he is going to tell his parents about what Fedenia made him do. Frank then challenges Fedenia to a fight, in which Fedenia charges at him. Frank then easily beats him up, and leaves him at the mercy of the cadets he once exploited until the police arrive.
