Everyone was so afraid of my magic, but there are far more powerful forces at work here - things we do not fully understand, but we know they should be feared.
~ The Hermit expressing his fear of Titan before fighting Shadow for the last time.

The Hermit is the main antagonist of Act II: Secret Path of Shadow Fight 2. He is the creator of Magic and a martial arts teacher. Before the events of Shadow Fight 2, he, alongside five other powerful fighters, was dragged into the Shadow World through the Gates of Shadows, created by the alien conqueror Titan. Here, he became a host of Titan's Shadow Demon, and was freed alongside other Shadow Demon Hosts after Shadow, an arrogant warrior, opened the Gates, which resulted in the latter losing his physical body and soul.

Before being dragged into the Shadow World, Hermit attempted to kill the Prince of Ivory City for his school's future, after the city's warlord promised him protection and ordered him to train his men, but was stopped by Sensei.

After his release from the Shadow World, Hermit became the keeper of the green demon seal, which, when combined with other demon seals, can open the Gates of Shadows. Shadow, in his quest to regain his body and soul, proceeded to defeat Hermit and his bodyguards, and claimed his seal. Hermit, alongside other Demons, returned when Shadow approached the Gates with all six Demon Seals, to stop him from opening it and unleashing Titan. Following Shadow's failed attempt to regain his body, Hermit and his bodyguards tried to stop Shadow once again, but failed, warning Shadow and his companions about Titan one last time.

Appearance[]

Hermit looks like a stereotypical sensei, wearing conical hat and green tunic with the golden demon symbols on the shoulders. He has long white facial hair and long beard.

During the events of Old Wounds, he looks mostly the same, but now has visible pupils, shorter facial hair, and long grey hair.

Personality[]

Hermit is the wisest and least evil of the Shadow Demon Hosts, as he never insulted Shadow and he can acknowledge a strong fighter, entrusting his magic to the people he believes are reliable, although he is also destructive, as he tells Shadow to sow destruction after giving him Magic. Like other demons, he is afraid of Titan, believing his mind control abilities are more powerful than his magic. However, Hermit already subverted his fear of Titan in Shades by trying to make Guru (Shadow's evil self who killed Butcher) the "new Titan".

In the Old Wounds Storyline, Hermit displays a more traitorous personality however, as he is willing to kill and betray people for his school's future.

In Shades, Hermit was founding a cult called "The Family" with Guru, and when encountered, dismissed Butcher as a "village thug".

Biography[]

Nothing is known about Hermit's past, although at one point he became a martial arts teacher. Through the unknown means, he also gained an insight of the Shadow World, it's powers and it's inhabitants.

Shadow Fight 2[]

Old Wounds[]

Part I: The Witness[]

Hermit was mentioned by the Prince at the end of the act, who found out that his men were trained by the former. He and Sensei then decide to face Hermit, as they are certain he is involved in Lynx's attack.

Part II: Shadow of the Future[]

Upon meeting Sensei and Prince, Hermit is displeased that the latter survived. He admits he betrayed Prince and hired Lynx to kill him to attain his school's greatness. Hermit and his disciples then attempt to kill the Prince, but were stopped by Sensei. Upon being defeated, Sensei berates him for selling his honor by betraying someone, to which Hermit replies this is the only way to save his school, and that Shogun has ordered him to train his men and promised him protection. He then tells them the location of the bandit who kidnapped Prince.

Hermit, alongside other powerful warriors (Lynx, Butcher, Wasp, Widow and Shogun) was latter dragged into the Shadow World through the Gates of Shadows, where the Gates' creator, an intergalactic conqueror known as Titan, turned him and other capture warriors into hosts of the Shadow Demons.

Main Storyline[]

Act II: Secret Path[]

Hermit and other Demons were freed after the Gates were opened by Shadow, a powerful but arrogant warrior who wanted to find worthy opponent. This resulted in the latter losing his physical body and soul from the Shadow Energy Emissions.

In order to return his physical form, Shadow and his companions (his Sensei and a blacksmith May), started to pursue the Demon Seals that can open the Gates again, with each of them belonging to a Demon, including Hermit.

Upon his return, Hermit destroys other fighting academies in the town and creates his own. He then starts a competition, the winner of which will learn Hermit's secret power, which is later revealed to be Magic.

Hermit appears at the end of the act as its final boss. Before the fight, he asks Shadow if he is the one he was waiting for, and then fights him to test his skills. Defeated, Hermit admits that Shadow is indeed very powerful, and entrusts him his Magic to eliminate Butcher, the gang leader and demon of neighboring province, who wants to discover Hermit's Magic.

Act VI: Iron Reign (Gates of Shadows)[]

Hermit, alongside his fellow Demons, appears at the end of the Act, trying to prevent Shadow from opening the Gates and locking them away again. They lose to Shadow again however, but Shadow didn't succeed in his goals, instead losing May after she was dragged into the Shadow World.

Interlude[]

Hermit and his bodyguards once again appear in Act II, serving as the second boss rush of the Interlude. This time, Hermit fights for good cause, as he doesn't want Shadow to re-open the Gates and unleash Titan.

Act VII: Revelation (Part III)[]

Master, Titan's second bodyguard who is also an alternate reality Shadow who was corrupted by Shadow Energy Emissions, killed his reality's Hermit and became the greatest Master of the Orient.

Hermit, alongside other Shadow Demon Hosts, was freed from his Shadow Demon following Titan's death.
