| “ | A hermit is a hermit. Perpetual youth, a clear mind, a sturdy body. It seems you're the same sort of being. You've transcended life and death, haven't you? | „ |
| ~ Seiga Kaku when asked about what is a hermit. |
The Hermits (仙人 sennin) are supporting antagonists from the Touhou Project franchise.
They are former humans who gained longer lifespan due to religious training, can live around thousands of years, however they are not truly immortal. Most of the hermits in Touhou are affliated to Toyosatomimi no Miko's Divine Spirit Mausoleum (神霊廟 Shinreibyō), who seek to expand the influence of Taoism ever since Toyosatomimi no Miko's revival.

Shikaisen[]
Shikaisen (尸解仙) are Taoists who cheated their death by transfering their souls into an objects. Their homeworld is Hermit World (仙界 Senkai), a sealed secret world created by Toyosatomimi no Miko herself, a location where nobody else can bother someone as a place for practicing Taoism. Miko has built a Taoism temple within Senkai named Divine Spirit Mausoleum, which serves as their headquarter to spread Taoism and compete against Byakuren Hijiri's Myouren Temple.
