~ The original Hermster, after seeing an opened jar of chutney. |
The Hermsters are an alien species that first appeared in ''How to Cook a BBQ for an Alien'', but would only receive antagonism in ''The Hermster: An Invasive Species''.
Description[]
Hermsters are small, at around 25 centimeters tall, hamster-like furry creatures. Their bodies are mostly rotund, covered almost completely in orange fur, with the exception of its legs, hands, face and small horns. They have no visible arms, and only stubby hands, with three fingers. These small hands don't appear to have many uses, as the Hermsters don't use them. Another striking detail the Hermsters have are their legs, which are very long and human-like. Their legs are also covered in small bumps, and their feet have only three toes, all of which are very short. The Hermsters have big mouths, with only two teeth, similarly to real world rodents. Another body part they have are small, triangular growths on the very top of their heads, resembling ears or horns. Finally, they have pink skin, though this is only visible on their legs, hands, triangular growths and around their eyes and mouths.
Personality[]
The most well-known Hermster trait is their undying love for chutney. While this Indian condiment wasn't originally part of their diet, and what they originally ate is unknown, after getting to Earth, the Hermsters immediately became addicted to chutney, going to great lengths in order to get it, such as attacking passerbies in groups, breaking in home or even mauling some, such as what happened to Will, after he broke a chutney jar and was splattered by its contents.
Hermsters also show they are capable of intelligent dialogue, being capable of speaking English in order to ask for more chutney or insult others, which is something they do very commonly. While their true intelligence isn't revealed, it is to be assumed that Hermsters aren't too far behind humans.
Hermsters may also be a migratory or nomadic species, as, after getting its Spunch taken away by Will, the original Hermster was said to be able to find a new home, implying they could change homes in case something happens to their old one.
History[]
How to Cook a BBQ for an Alien[]
The Hermsters first appeared in "How to Cook a BBQ for an Alien", where, in order to grill slices of the Spunch, Will had to remove a Hermster from it. To do so, he opened a jar of chutney, luring the alien out, and then grabbing it, removing it from the space vegetable. After being insulted by the Hermster, Will continues with his recipe.
How To Invest In Other Dimensions For Beginners[]
The original Hermster briefly appears in this video, where, after Will says a common expression, the alien argues with him, saying it ''did not say that'', and after Will asks it to pretend it did so, he gets insulted.
The Hermster: An Invasive Species[]
The Hermsters are revealed to have multiplied in population in the British woods, becoming an invasive species. In order to try to steal chutney, they break in homes, rifle through fridges and steal as much chutney as they can. Other Hermsters find a different strategy on getting chutney, which is attacking passerbys in groups and nibbling them until they get it. It is also revealed some Hermsters overdose on Chutney, leaving many glasses of it on the forest, causing damages to the environment. Attempts at controlling their lust for the condiment were made, by switching it with other condiments. However, this has only served to enrage the aliens, which was shown during a violent interrogation made by a Hermster throwing bottles at a man to attempt to get chutney. At the end of the short documentary, Will shows a bottle of chutney, but accidentally drops it, smearing it on his face. The aliens then attack him to get it, and presumably maul him.
