Hern is the Satan and bug-themed judge and guardian of the entrance to Yodonheim Heaven and one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Mose) of the Mashin Sentai Kiramager Yodonna spin-off series.
He was voiced by Hisao Egawa who also previously voiced Daidarabotchi in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, VV Gorin in Gekisou Sentai Carranger, Wedding Dress Org in Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger, Crystonian Farley in Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger, Bulldozerloid in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, Bag Shadow in Ressha Sentai ToQger, and Raimon Gaorufang in Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger. Outside of Super Sentai, he is most well known as Ogremon and Machinedramon in Digimon Adventure.

Hern's exact origins are unknown but he seemed to be inspired by Satan which implies that he was originally a member of Yodonheim Heaven that was cast out. Whatever his origins, he became the arbitrator of the Soul Administration Department who decided whether Yodon souls would go to Heaven or have thier souls destroyed by his assistant and enforcer Mose.
Mashin Sentai Kiramager Spin-Off: Yodonna[]
Mose and Hern are first seen judging a large group of Jamenshi where they admit Maneki-neko Jamen into Yodon Heaven but then has Mose annihilate Datula because of his new invention being used to drain a person's life-force. They then uncover Yodonna where they discover that she has lost Emperor Yodon's favour (as he had murdered her to escape a trap from the Kiramagers). Hern then recognises and mocks her for lacking even the four most common emotions but Yodonna manages to escape back to Earth using Dantula's invention before she can be judged.
Personality[]
Hern has the personality of a stereotypical judge; always being calm unless confronted with someone's evil intention where he becomes angry and homicidal. Despite being of the Yodonheim, Hern is not swayed by association with the late Emperor Yodon and seems to condemn any that associate with him although his implies that Yodonna's relationship with the Emperor would grant her free passage. He is a unique antagonist in that he is not truly evil as his only motivation is to destroy evil spirits and he can even be benevolent to those that are kind hearted. He is only antagonistic towards Yodonna as he judged her as being evil.
