Hevnoraak is a minor antagonist in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
HIStory
While he was alive, Hevnoraak was a powerful dragon priest who practiced a form of mind-manipulating magic. With this power, he accumulated an army of enthralled accomplices. Whatever form of torture he used on them, merely being frightened was sufficient to maintain their allegiance and thus follow his commands. This did not end even when he perished; they were essentially bound in servitude to protect him, as patrols of the catacombs of the ancient Nordic tomb Valthume.
Before dying, Hevnoraak planned an elaborate resurrection ritual. He drained the blood from his body and would transfer his power back to himself after perishing, therefore, he became a powerful lich. Upon death, his blood was stored in three vessels kept within Valthume and guarded by the sentries who served him so fearfully in life. If nobody stopped him, Hevnoraak would eventually awaken when he was powerful enough to restore himself.
An ancient Nord warrior named Valdar discovered Hevnoraak's plan and locked himself in Valthume, binding himself to Hevnoraak in order to stop his reawakening. Even in death, the ghost of Valdar guards the tomb of Hevnoraak.
