The Hewitt Family are the main antagonists of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake timeline.

They are a cannibal family that kills victims in Texas County. They are based off of the Sawyer Family from the original series.

Biography[]

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning[]

In 1939, a woman died while giving birth in a slaughterhouse, and the manager disposes of the baby by leaving it in a trash bin outside. When young Luda Mae Hewitt, the matriarch of the Hewitt family, finds the boy, she takes him to her residence, names him Thomas, and raises him as her own son. Thirty years later, Thomas works at the slaughterhouse under the same manager who left him in the dumpster. When the health department closes the plant, he refuses to leave until the manager forces him to. Thomas later returns to murder his manager and finds a chainsaw which he takes with him. When Sheriff Hoyt attempts to arrest him, Luda Mae's other son, Charlie Hewitt, kills him and assumes his identity.

Prior to the murders, six generations of Hewitts had lived and died, according to Charlie Hewitt as he delivered a speech concerning the family's induction into cannibalism after having served the remains of the former Sheriff Winston Hoyt as a stew.

After the arrival of some young people and a couple of motorcyclists. Hoyt arrives, kills Alex and forces them to put his body in his car. Hoyt then forces the group inside as well and has Uncle Monty to tow the jeep, which Chrissie is hiding in. Hoyt takes them to the Hewitt house, where he has Thomas butcher Alex's body. He then holds Eric, Dean and Bailey captive. When Monty brings the wrecked car to the house, Chrissie runs back to the road and calls Holden, Alex's boyfriend, who follows her back to the house.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: About a Boy (2007)[]

On Wednesday, July 9th, 1958, Thomas' schoolteacher, Mr. Hansen, arrived to the Hewitt homestead to notify Luda Mae that he had concerns regarding Thomas' behavior in school. He intended to file a report to remove Thomas from the Hewitts' custody to institutionalize him. Luda Mae strikes him across the back of his head with a shovel, murdering him. When Thomas and his older brother, Charlie, arrived for supper, Luda Mae simply tells them to "wash up for supper." She never mentions the missing Hansen.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)[]

The group goes to a nearby restaurant to contact the police, where the woman Luda Mae tells them to meet Sheriff Hoyt at the mill. Instead, they find a young man named Jedidiah, who tells them that Hoyt is home getting drunk. Erin and Kemper head through the woods to find their house, leaving Morgan, Andy, and Pepper at the mill with Jedidiah. They come across a plantation house and an amputee named Monty lets Erin inside to ask for help. Kemper goes in to look for Erin and is killed with a sledgehammer by Thomas Hewitt, also known as "Leatherface", who drags his body to the basement to make a new mask.

Meanwhile, Hoyt arrives at the mill and disposes of the hitchhiker's body. After Erin discovers Kemper is missing, she and Andy return to Monty's house and Erin distracts him while Andy looks for Kemper. When Monty realizes that Andy is inside, he summons Leatherface, who attacks him with his chainsaw. Erin escapes and heads into the woods, but Leatherface cuts off Andy's leg and takes him to the basement, where he is impaled on a meat hook. Erin returns to the mill, but before she and the others can leave, Hoyt appears. After finding marijuana on the dashboard, he orders Erin and Pepper out of the truck, gives Morgan the gun he took from the hitchhiker, and tells him to reenact how she committed suicide. Morgan, disturbed by his demands, attempts to shoot him, only to discover that the gun is unloaded. Hoyt then handcuffs Morgan and takes him back to the Hewitt house, taking the key to the truck.
