Hiachi Masashige is a major antagonist in the 2021 Roblox horror game The Mimic; acting as a supporting antagonist in Control's Book: Chapter I.
She was a young girl who met and became friends with the Beast of Control, Kintoru, while going on an adventure in a Sakura forest. However, the latter would trick Hiachi into removing a paper seal which allowef her to regain her sealed powers before cursing Hiachi into becoming a puppet for her amusement. Because of this, she is essentially one of the more influential characters in the entire story.
She also appears as Shiniachi in the "Hiachi's Request" event, a non-canon Halloween event for The Mimic released in 2021 and 2022.

Before she was cursed, Hiachi was a young girl who had long, dark hair with a bright red headband. She had a pale complexion, and her face was shadowed, hiding her facial features. She wore a white kimono which had a pink Sakura print on its sleeves. She used to hold her doll, Shaku, on the title screen before the revamped lobby. It is said that she also wore a hat on adventures as Kintoru did when she transformed into someone who looked like her. Hiachi also wears a hat in her monstrous/cursed form.

Hiachi has pale white skin, long black hair, black eyes with bloodshot irises, black mucus dripping down from her eyes, and long arms with sharp fingernails. She has a wide, uncanny grin as if it is a forced smile. She wears a long plain white sleeveless dress that is knee length, and she walks barefoot. She also wears her pink hat that has a red rim.
Shiniachi[]
As Shiniachi, she retains her long hair and black eyes with black mucus running down from the sockets, though most of her body becomes black, with her face being the only part to remain white. Her eyes have glowing red pupils and her mouth is covered with a red beady necklace similar to the one worn by Shihyosha, acting like a muzzle and forming a creepy smile. Matching her mostly black body, she wears a similarly dark dress that reaches just above her ankles.
Personality[]
Hiachi was once an innocent, playful and kind girl. Even though her mother was impulsive and shamed by her neighbors, Hiachi was still an energetic little one. She is very naive as she was easily tricked by Kintoru into taking off the paper seal in her Sakura tree, which resulted in Hiachi being cursed in cold blood and turned into one of her puppets. She's also quite adventurous, as she always traveled far away from her home with her doll, Shaku.
While under the possession of Kintoru, she is essentially a homicidal and aggressive monster who relentlessly pursues Yasu whenever she sees him, and only stopping when he manages to evade her for long enough; all while humming creepily. Though, this obviously isn't her true personality, and we can see in a few instances around the beginning of Control's Book: Chapter I that Hiachi is crying out of being betrayed and manipulated by Kintoru.
History[]
Hiachi was an 8-year-old girl who was shunned by her village due to her mother's issues. She was bullied by the children of her town, being attacked with rocks that spelt "E-V-I-L." Her only friend was her doll, Shaku, a gift given to her by her mother. Hiachi would always go on adventures with Shaku.
Sometime later, Hiachi went on an adventure with Shaku and found a beautiful Sakura Forest. Hiachi noticed that one of the trees was taken care of very well. On the tree was a seal, labeled "Here lies the seal of the accursed witch." Suddenly, a dark figure emerged from the tree. Hiachi asked the creature's name, and it claimed to not have one. So, she named her new friend "Sama." Day by day, Sama became more of a mother figure to Hiachi than her own mother. Unfortunately, Hiachi's joy wouldn't last forever.
One day, Sama asked Hiachi to take off her seal. Hiachi did what her best friend requested of her, but instead was devoured by Sama, her very first real friend and eventually became one of her puppets.
She was eventually sent by Kintoru to try to kill Yasu from the school to her maze in the city. When Yasu was traveling through the school basement, Hiachi cried for her mother and chased Yasu after throughout her maze but failed to kill him.
She, alongside most of her other family members were then seen stuck in Saigomo's web. Futaba then comforts Hiachi.
After Kintoru was slain by Yasu, Hiachi, alongside most of her other ancestors and descendants moved on to the afterlife, finally free from her curse.
Trivia[]
- Hiachi is the first monster to be encountered in the entire game of The Mimic.
- However, chronologically the Fleshbags would be the first, since The Witch Trials takes place around 1991, while Control's Book happens in August 2021.
- She also has the ability to disappear and reappear (in the Halloween event), a trait shared with Shihyosha, Taiyo, and Mihari.
- She is based off of the popular Japanese urban legend known as the Hachishakusama.
- She is confirmed to be 8 years old, born in 1632 and cursed in 1640.
- Her Shiniachi form is confirmed to not be canon, so is her being cursed by Shinigami.
- The name "Hiachi" (八) is a modified version of the Japanese word "Hachi" which means "eight".
- The name "Shiniachi" ( 死八) roughly means "eighth death".
- Hiachi's lore is written by a lore writer named Itsuki, who also wrote the lore of Kyogi, Mihari Masashige, Shosai, and Futaba Masashige.
