He is portrayed by Jun Hashimoto.

Biography[]

Past[]

Akaishi was originally the king of an ancient civilization that came into being not long after humanity first evolved. When Giff arrived on Earth, Akaishi and his civilization initially labeled him a "demon" and opposed him, leading Giff to bring ruin to them. After witnessing the demon's true power, Akaishi began worshipping Giff and convinced the demon to anoint him as a mediator for humanity. Akaishi was one of two humans alongside Azuma to agree to a contract with Giff, receiving immortality in exchange for acting as Giff's observer of humanity and their progression while Giff entered a dormant slumber.

Deadmans Founder Ep20

However, in the 20th century, Akaishi began to fear that humanity's continued progress would eventually bring about their destruction, and sought to revive Giff and bring humanity under his control. To this end Akaishi served as a board member for NOAH, a government research organization that sought to find a way to weaponize demons. After the organization was disbanded, Akaishi and other former members of the organization stole the casket of Giff and used it to found the Deadmans cult, seeking to reawaken Giff and use him to advance humanity to another evolutionary state. At the same time, Akaishi was able to get himself appointed the director of the newly-formed Fenix organization created to combat the Deadmans, which he appropriated for his own goals.

At some point, he approached Makoto Hatsushiba and recruited him into the cult. The young man would eventually become one of the Deadmans' top executives, taking the name "Orteca".

Observing Giff[]

Akaishi arrives on Skybase.

Akaishi would later obtain the casket of Giff again after Fenix raided the Deadmans Base and came into possession of it. Following the reveal that Commander Yujiro Wakabayashi had been killed and impersonated by the Chameleon Deadman, Akaishi arrived on Skybase to personally take command. He stepped in as Hiromi suggested they destroy Giff's casket, telling him that would be a rash decision and declaring that Fenix's priority should be to locate Orteca, Aguilera and Julio.

He would later approach George to ask him about the status of the Demons Driver. George informed him that it was doing well and that it should be restored to its former form soon enough.

After Revi and Vice defeated the Wolf Deadman Riot Form and voided Julio's demon contract, Akaishi observed the casket of Giff as it absorbed Julio's energy, remarking that "fortune is a fickle friend".

After Orteca was captured by the Deadmans, Akaishi went to personally speak to him under the pretense of doing an interrogation. After Akaishi dismissed his guards however, Orteca stood up and handed him the Giff Stamp. Their meeting was spied by Hiromi, who attempted to stop them, only for the Fenix Skybase to suddenly veer off course and begin plummeting as part of Akaishi and Orteca's plan to stage Orteca's break out. Orteca then summoned Giff Juniors to attack Hiromi before making his escape with the Demons Driver. After Orteca defeated all the other Kamen Riders as Kamen Rider Demons, Akaishi stood by the casket of Giff and observed it as it gained more energy.

Akaishi would later be approached by Daiji, who wanted to ask how the search for Hiromi was going. Akaishi stated that he was still missing and reminded Daiji that he was expendable, before instructing Daiji to focus on more immediate concerns.

After Vail left the Demons Driver, Akaishi approached Orteca to inform him that Giff's revival was almost upon them and told him not to succumb. Orteca responded that that went without saying, prompting Akaishi to comment that anxiety and hesitation must be behind him before turning around and laughing as he walked away.

When Kagero threatened George for the Crow Vistamp, Akaishi entered and told George to give him both. George was hesistant, but Akaishi told him it would be yet another trial for Daiji to overcome and, should he fall, they could always employ Kagero in his place.

After Orteca was defeated by Holy Live, Akaishi approached him inside his hideout and congratulated him, informing him that because of his actions Giff's revival would come soon. He called Orteca a "genius", but Orteca rebuffed Akaishi's compliments and told him he was not his underling, before stating his intent to remake the world. Later, as Giff was on the cusp of reviving and began absorbing more and more Fenix members, Akaishi simply observed from afar as his plans went accordingly.

Conspiring with Giff[]

After Giff absorbed Orteca and fully revived, Akaishi delivered a presentation to Giff from within Fenix's base to Giff in his dimension inform the demon god of the events that had transpired up to his awakening. Once he finished, Akaishi declared he already had his sights on a replacement for Orteca and declared that the time had come for them to lead humanity to its "next stage".

Speaking with Giff again, Akaishi informed him that their plans were proceeding smoothly and requested he stay patient. After Giff closed the portal, Akaishi phoned one of his subordinates in Fenix and stated he would be returning to Skybase.

Akaishi later assembled a team of Squad Leaders and instructed them all to conduct sweeps of the city for the Proto Vistamps that had been distributed. Once they all left to prepare their squads, Akaishi was approached by Vail. Vail asked why he hadn't made a move yet despite Giff returning, to which Akaishi answered that human society comes with its own set of "processes" His conversation with Vaik was observed by Akemi, to whom it appeared as if he was speaking to nothing, causing her to immediately grow suspicious of him.

The Squad Leaders eventually reported back to Akaishi and delivered him the recovered Vistamps. Feeling suspicious of Akaishi, Akemi would later sneak inside his office to search for clues and came across a shelf of Vistamps that were supposed to be disposed of. Akaishi then came up behind her and pulled off his glove to reveal Giff's gem embedded in his hand, which he used to create a portal to Giff's dimension and summon two True Gifftarians to attack her.

Akaishi tied up Akemi and held her in his office until she awoke. When he returned, Akemi asked him what he was, to which Akaishi answered he was a being Giff bestowed with immortality in ancient times so he could observe humans for him. It was at that point that Vail returned and Akaishi opened a portal to Giff, who bestowed onto Vail a physical body. Now having a physical form, Vail left to continue pursuing his vengeance on Genta. Akemi then managed to cut herself free and grabbed the gun on Akaishi's desk to use to shoot at him, but none of the bullets she fired at him managed to penetrate his skin. Akaishi then grabbed the gun from her and swiftly incapacitated him again. Daiji would later go to Akaishi's office to interrogate him and forced his way inside, finding Akemi sitting in a daze next to Akaishi's desk. Daiji tried attacking Akaishi, but Akaishi manhandled him before using his powers to burn Daiji. Not giving up, Daiji tried to punch Akaishi's face, only for his fist to be bloodied instead. Akaishi then knocked Daiji to the ground before laughing and dragging Akemi to another room.

With Akemi present, Akaishi contacted Giff again to inform him that preparations were almost ready and that soon humanity would be beholden to his existence. He then turned to Akemi and asked if she had made up her mind on if she would become a loyal servant to Giff or simply be fodder for him, telling her she should feel grateful for having gotten to witness him sooner than most. Akaishi later delivered a televised announcement declaring that a new threat to humanity lay in waiting and that Fenix would reveal soon after obtaining more information. At the same time, George Karizaki formulated a plan with the Igarashi siblings to lure Akaishi into a trap by having the three of them attack Akaishi while he was demonstrating a transformation with the Demons Driver, allowing for four Kamen Riders at once to fight him. While meeting with George however, Akaishi called in Akemi to witness the transformation as well, before revealing he knew that it was a trap and that Daiji and his siblings were laying in wait for him. The Igarashi siblings then stepped out and revealed themselves to Akaishi, who explained his true past and goals to them. Akaishi declared that the only way for humanity to continue to survive was strategic regression into servants of Giff but Ikki responded that it wasn't Akaishi's place to decide, to which Akaishi retorted that he was the only one with the right to decide. Daiji then transformed into Holy Live to attack Akaishi, but Akaishi blew him out of his transformation with a single blast and left him injured on the ground. Ikki and Sakura then assumed their Kamen Rider forms to battle Akaishi, who created a portal to Giff's dimension and began summoning True Gifftarians to fight them. Midway through the fight, Vail appeared as well and joined in. While Vail and the True Gifftarians battled Revice and Jeanne, Akaishi approached Daiji, who declared that he would defeat him despite his injuries. To break Daiji's spirit, Akaishi called over Akemi and asked her to give her thoughts. Akemi stated that she saw no future for humanity without Giff. Akaishi then had Giff mutate Akemi into Giffdemos to add another player into the fight.

Strategic Regression[]

Although Giffdemos had Daiji at her mercy, Akaishi did not have her finish him off. As soon as Vail began to run out of power, Akaishi closed the portal to Giff and teleported himself, along with Vail, Giffdemos and all of the True Gifftarians, away. He later met with Vail and stamped him with several Vistamps to power him up, but told him not to kill any of the Igarashi siblings. Vail asked what would happen if he did, to which Akaishi answered that their arrangement would come to an end. Vail then agreed not to kill them and stated he would beat them within an inch of death instead before teleporting away. Akaishi then went to deliver a press conference on the threat to humanity he had announced in his earlier televised speech. Although Daiji had declared his intention to oppose him, Akaishi allowed him to attend the press conference in person. At the announcement, Akaishi declared that Fenix had found no way to stop Giff and that the only way for humanity to survive would be to submit themselves to him. Daiji attempted to interrupt the speech and expose the truth on live television, but Akaishi had Giffdemos crash the conference and attack him. Akaishi then opened a portal to Giff, who vaporized the Fenix soldiers standing guard and destroyed Fenix's entire Skybase fleet, in order to demonstrate how it was hopeless to oppose him. It was then that the other Kamen Riders appeared to assist Daiji, but Vail and several True Gifftarians appeared in front of them to do battle. After Giffdemos fought off Daiji, Akaishi had her hit him with an attack in order to fake his death.

Under Akaishi's direction, Fenix mandated that everyone be stamped with special stamps devised to separate humans from their demons. To encourage people to get stamped, Fenix gave preferential treatment for housing to those who had been stamped over those who had yet to get the stamp. Akaishi would also use the demons extracted from people as fodder to create Giff Juniors, which had rampage in order to frighten people into getting stamped. After Giff fused multiple Gifftarians together to create the Hell Gifftarian, Akaishi set it loose to attack Daiji Igarashi as he was battling Giff Juniors.

Akaishi would later give another public announcement, revealing that he had survived and stating he had been saved by the regenerative power of Giff. Akaishi proclaimed that Giff had given him the task of ensuring humanity's continued protection under his rule. After he finished his presentation, Daiji confronted him and accused him of being responsible for the Giff Junior attacks. Akaishi admitted to doing so, and revealed he was using the attacks to press people into getting stamped more to ensure their safety. Akaishi would later be confronted by both Ikki and Sakura Igarashi, who were hoping to get a sample of Giff from Giffdemos in order to use it to develop a way to kill Giff. Akaishi summoned both Giffdemos and the Hell Gifftarian to do battle against them, with Revice fighting the former while Jeanne took on the latter. During the battle, Revice switched to the Barid Rex Vistamp and used its modified ice powers to immobilize Giffdemos. Before they could bring her to Weekend's lab and save Akemi however, the Hell Gifftarian, which had defeated Sakura, appeared to fight them. As Revi and Vice were battling it, Akaishi opened a portal to Giff to kill Giffdemos, making it seem like Ikki had been responsible for Akemi's death in order to turn Daiji against him.

Combating Weekend[]

When Weekend rose up in rebellion against Giff, Akaishi spoke with Daiji Igarashi in his office and asked what he intended to do. Daiji answered that he would force them to understand why they had no choice but to obey Giff. Akaishi would later give another public announcement, declaring his wish for peace and a united humanity, and depicting Weekend as a terrorist organization that was threatening civilians. He later observed as more civilians got stamped and were admitted to ARARAT, but stated that still too many were choosing the wrong side. Daiji then volunteered to go lead an attack on Weekend in order to shut down their shelter and escort everyone in it to ARARAT.

After Vail brought Daiji back to the ARARAT HQ following his defeat at Revice's hands, Akaishi asked if he had fought Ikki. Sensing that Daiji was feeling alone, Akaishi hugged him and stated that his loneliness was something he also understood as well, surprised that he had found someone else to empathize with after having lived alone for so long. When Ikki and Vice went to attack ARARAT in order to try reaching out to Daiji again, Akaishi took the opportunity to lead a group of Giff Juniors and Gifftarians in an assault on Weekend's shelter. When Hikaru, Hana and Sakura assumed their Kamen Rider forms to fight them off, Akaishi stepped forward to do battle against them personally, calling on Giff's power to mutate him into a Giffdemos. In his new demon form, Akaishi was able to overpower all of them, leading Sakura and Hana to leave to go help the rest of the civilians evacuate while Hikaru stayed behind to hold Akaishi off. Akaishi beat down Hikaru and knocked him out of his transformation as Over Demons before moving to finish him off, only for Tasuke Ushijima to step in the way at the last moment and take the blow himself, telling Hikaru to evacuate with the rest of the civilians. As Hikaru left, Tasuke started to fall to the ground and dropped a picture of himself with his late wife and daughter in front of Akaishi. Akaishi picked the picture up and surmised that they were Tasuke's real family, to which Tasuke stated that they were and they had been killed by the Deadmans. After Tasuke passed on, Akaishi set the picture on top of his body in a show of respect for him despite the two having been enemies. Akaishi later returned to the ARARAT HQ after Ikki had beaten Daiji, stepping in front of the defeated Daiji and telling Ikki to stay away from his family before teleporting away with him.

Back at ARARAT, Akaishi congratulated Daiji for his efforts against Revice and Weekend. Daiji expressed that he believed the only way to save humanity was to kill his brother. Akaishi then told Daiji he thought of him as a son, but Daiji was not fazed by that. It was then however that Giff suddenly appeared before them and created a shockwave, which Akaishi interpreted as Giff growing furious and finding humanity's continued conflict tiresome. Akaishi later personally took part in a Fenix attack on ARARAT, assuming his Giffdemos form to do battle. Vail also chose to partake in the battle, and together he and Akaishi fought Vice and Revi respectively. After the two were beaten back, Akaishi's immortality began to wear down, causing him to panic and wander off as Vail continued to engage both Riders.

After returning to ARARAT HQ, Akaishi noticed Daiji looking at his phone and asked what message he had received, but Daiji refused to tell him and walked away. Akaishi later returned to his quarters, where he grew increasingly frantic as his immortality continued to dissolve. He later attempted to intervene in the fight between Genta and Vail, but Ikki and Vice assumed their Ultimate forms to hold him off and defeated him while Genta destroyed Vail. It was then that Giff chose to personally intervene and personally appeared before them all.

Although Akaishi had been killed, Giff revived him and restored his body. Akaishi thanked Giff for the resurrection, but Giff told him that his time was up. As Giff had deemed humanity beyond saving, Akaishi went on a one-person attack on ARARAT in order to draw out the Weekend Kamen Riders. Once they arrived, Akaishi forfeited his immortality in exchange for Giff granting him a more powerful upgraded demon form called "Gigademos". At the same time, Giff personally intervened in the fight and battled against Ultimate Revi and Vice while Jeanne and Aguilera fought Gigademos. After Gigademos beat back both of them, Revi broke off from fighting Giff to hold off Gigademos. Once he had charged up his Over Demons form, Hikaru entered the confrontation and fought Akaishi one-on-one, beating his Gigademos form down but overexerting his Rider form in the process and detransforming. Weakened but not defeated, Akaishi then noticed Daiji Igarashi walking towards him and believed he had come to assist him. However, Daiji instead shot Gigademos with his Livegun and fatally wounded Akaishi. Despite this, Akaishi took his death in stride and gave Daiji some parting words before dissipating.
