The High Mage is the surviving member of an ancient race known as the Y'Lyntians.
History
He and his people lived in an advanced city underground where they later discovered life on the surface of Earth. Over time, his race was dying, so the surviving members of his race were incased in crystals, in order to survive. The High Mage, however, stood awake to guard them.
One day, he discovered the turtles and the Foot Clan experiment. He offered his services to change the Foot Clan experiments back to humans by placing them in crystal cases, but he was very only and wanted them to stay with him. When the turtles decline, the High Mage became outraged and fought the turtles. The turtles trapped him in a crystal and felt bed that he was alone.
