Be comforted knowing that the Yaojing has brought you for the Harvest. And besides, you're not my first weasel.
~ The High Priestess to Klaus Dumont as she prepares to cut up and cook him.

The High Priestess is a minor antagonist in Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "A Thread in the Dark".

She was voiced by Rolonda Watts.

Biography[]

The High Priestess is the elderly leader of a village of female Chow Chow who worship a goddess called the Yaojing. Every once in a while, the villagers will throw a festival to worship her, which they call "the harvest". However, the harvests in question are ritual sacrifices where the villagers will throw a male prisoner into a pot and cook him alive before eating him.

Following Klaus Dumont's battle against Colin, his sister Veruca carries him away after he faints from his injuries. Veruca come across Changpu who was out plucking mushrooms and orders her to take them to her village.

Changpu applies and has the weasels hitch a ride on her cart. In the village, the High Priestess welcomes the two and tells them that it has been months since their last visitors. She also tells them about the Yaojing and the harvests they celebrate.

Veruca threatens them to treat her brother's wounds. The Priestess applies to her request, and as a way of gratitude, offers to let them enjoy the harvest which was happening that night.

Upon waking up, Klaus is offered tea that makes him and Veruca woozy, as it was drugged. The Priestess and her followers take away Klaus, fully with intentions to make him their next victim. They also tie up Veruca and take away her gauntlet to prevent her from interfering, with the Priestess telling her that they will let her join for dessert.

As he is dragged to the pot, Klaus realizes what was going on and tries to convince the villagers not to eat him, claiming that weasels were high on cholesterol. The Priestess taunts his foolish efforts, claiming that she had already eaten weasels beforehand and prepares to slice him open.

But before she could, Veruca, having snapped out of her drugged state, uses her plant manipulation powered by the full moon to escape her refinery and confront the villagers with a barrage of vines.

The villagers believe Veruca to be Yaojing herself, horrifying the Priestess who accidentally blurts out that the Yaojing was not real, much to Changpu's disgust. Veruca uses the vines to toss aside the villagers and rescue Klaus before lifting the Priestess high in the air.

The Priestess remarks that Veruca couldn't be the Yaojing since she made the whole thing up. Veruca responds that she was something far worse before dropping the Priestess right into the cooking pot. The Priestess jumps out from the heat and flees with the rest of the villagers.

Personality[]

Initially, the High Priestess presents herself as a friendly elderly woman who gladly welcomes everyone into her village.

However, her true personality is that of a man-hating serial killer who will kill every man she comes across before cooking them and eating them, disguising her actions as a religious festival for the goddess that she made up.

The Priestess holds a strong hatred for men, for she finds them all untrustworthy.
