Hillary Driscoll is the main antagonist in the 2023 sci-fi action film, Meg 2: The Trench. She is the financier of Jiuming Zhang's company, and covertly the employer of Montes and Jess.
She is portrayed by Sienna Guillory in her first villainous role.
Personality[]
Hillary is a homicidal psychopath. Hillary is presented as someone who is able to put on a mask for looks, when in reality she views people as her pawns for her own benefit. Hillary’s only concern seems to be money, as she ordered the murder of three of the film’s main protagonists simply because they uncovered her back door operation. When her lackey, Montes, had caused an explosion that killed dozens of her employees, her only concern seemed to have been for the cost that was expended. She mentions to Jiuming that she doesn’t care about the environmental damage that she may cause with her operation because she’ll be “making billions.”
History[]
Driscoll was the wealthy financier who acquired the Mana One underwater research facility along with the rest of the company, alongside oceanographer Jiuming Zhang, following the death of Jiuming's father and sister, Minway and Suyin Zhang.
She is first shown at Jiuming's presentation of Haiqi and their new technology to go under the trench for the mining operations, thanking him and the presentation-goers for being a part of protecting the ecosystem of the ocean. During the mining operation, she had Jess take over command to oversee it while in reality, to secretly exploit it to illegally mine the trench. She also had Montes kill several mine workers to cover up the mission.
When Jonas, Meiying, Jiuming, and Rigas discover an illegal mining operation that was originally owned by Montes before, alongside finding escape pods, they find a recording of Jess, who had been overseen by Hillary back at her place revealing her true colors. After the first escape pod is launched, Rigas, ordered by Jess under Hillary's orders, is tasked with killing Jonas in exchange for Meiying's life being spared, but she refuses. This results in the second escape pod being launched as well. She was then put on recording, revealing her true nature that she was only interested for money and that the mining operation was funded illegally to make billions, angering Jiuming as he told her that "karma will get her" before he smashed the recording in anger. Hillary then ordered Jess to send hired mercenaries to Mana One to cover up their activities and kill anyone inside before she activated a flood and left Jonas, Meiying, Jiuming, and Rigas to die, but Jonas was able to successfully deactivate it after a scuffle with Montes.
Driscoll later then spoke to Jess via phone that three Megs have escaped as well as their next plan to make a good cover story of the operation about it. Despite Jess claiming that she is behind a Meg-proof glass, she is unexpectedly devoured by a Meg.
Upon finding out that Jonas and his crew have escaped, as well as that the mercenaries were killed, she orders Montes to kill Jonas and his crew at a location which turns out to be Fun Island, as she boards a helicopter. Arriving there, she orders Montes and his mercenaries to find Jonas' team and kill them, albeit quietly. During their mission to find Jonas, they are unexpectedly encountered by Snappers, who kill off most of the mercenaries. Montes orders her to get back to the chopper. Whilst hiding in the chopper, hearing most of the crew being killed, she calls for Montes before grabbing a gun from a dead mercenary and hiding in the chopper. However, she encounters a Snapper and despite trying to kill it, it drags her before another one devours and kills her for good.

- She is somewhat similar to Claire Wyden from Rampage, as well as Eli Mills and Lewis Dodgson from the Jurassic Park franchise.
