Land Pollution Vice-Minister Hiramechimedes is the second-in-command of the Banki Clan Gaiark's army of Land Pollution Barbaric Machine Beasts, serving under Land Pollution Minister Yogostein and a supporting antagonist in Engine Sentai Go-Onger, serving as the primary antagonist of the second quarter of the series.
He served as Yogostein' s right-hand man and Gaiark's top tactical genius and was an expert strategist, able to crete cunning plans and tactics to trick his enemies. He was one of Go-Ongers's primary enemies and more serious threat than the Pollution Ministers. He was especially Hiroto's and Go-On Wings's archenemy during his story arc.
Whenever inspired with a plan, the 3 lights on his head flash as he says "Pok-Pok-Ping!" (ポク・ポク・ピーン! Poku-Poku-Pīn!) with the sextant, and protractor on his chest body indicating the plan's greatness. Hiramechimedes was feared by the Engines, making them frightened husks of their former selves in his numerous victories which they eventually overcame.
He was voiced by Kazuya Nakai.
History[]
During the early stages of the Gaiark takeover of Machine World, Hiramechimedes was tasked with inventing weapons. In the past, Hiramechimedes felt disrespected by Yogostein because he did not acknowledge his brilliance and plotted to kill the Land Pollution Minister to take his place as revenge. However, after Yogostein reached out to Hiramechimedes and offered him the rank of Vice-Minister of Land Pollution, Hiramechimedes accepted and swore loyalty to Yogostein out of gratitude, vowing to do everything within his power to assist his boss. Yogostein gave him the Hacalibur sword as a present.
During the Gaiark's campaign across the Brain Worlds, Hiramechimedes achieved numerous victories over the Engines resulting in them coming to fear him. However, they started to hate him and swore to get revenge on him for their race and worlds.
Some time before Speedor BV and Buson chased the Pollution Ministers to the Human World (as shown in the opening scene in the first episode), the Wing Engines chased Hiramechimedes into a worm hole that sent him into an unknown dimension and them to the Human World (where they would eventually meet Hiroto and Miu). This incident would lead the Pollution Ministers to assume that he mysteriously disappeared.
Hiramechimedes would later come to the Human World to serve under Yogostein again, and also encountered his old foes, the Wing Engines and the Go-On Wings.
He appeared for the first time in the fifteenth episode. He arrived on his Barbaric Dohma SP to the Human World. When Go-Ongers arrived to counter, the Engines revealed to Go-Ongers that Hiramechimedes was the pilot of the Dohma and he was the Land Pollution Vice-Minister and Gaiark's greatest military genius. He then started to fight the Rangers and they formed their Megazord. In spite of its components being frozen up in battle, Engine-Oh G6 fights Hiramechimedes who overpowers it single-handedly, but then he left to find Yogostein. Hiramechimedes met Yogostein and greeted him with his return. Then he returned and again fought the Go-Ongers and their partners Engines. The Engines used their Mantan Guns to retreat into the Ginjiro-go and the Go-ongers decided to fight him on their own. Hiramechimedes decided finish them off and brought out the Barbaric Dohma SP and the Go-Ongers escaped in the Ginjiro-go. Sosuke then confronted Speedor and the other Engines by reminding them they were their partners and encouraged them to confront their fear before Hiramechimedes. Saki then created a plan and after the night of training, Engine-Oh G6 challenged the Barbaric Dohma SP, breaking up into its components and Speedor managed to scrap the Barbaric Dohma SP, which splitted up as well. Then Hiroto and Miu appeared with their partners Toripter and Jetras and destroyed the Barbaric Dohma after the massive fight. However, Hiramechimedes escaped.
From this time, Hiramechimedes started working with Yogostein. Together, Yogostein and Hiramechimedes tried many plans to destroy the Go-Ongers and take over the Human World. However, Go-Ongers and Go-On Wings always foiled their plans. Hiramechimedes used his cunning and creative intelligence to trick the Go-Ongers, but heroes always found the ways to defeat him.
In the sixteenth episode, Hiramechimedes again confronted the Rangers. He talked to Yogostein and revealed his confrontation with Go-On Wings. While Kegalesia sent her Oil Banki to cover the city's roads in oil to make friction impossible for Engine-Oh G6. While the Rangers were seeking the ways to defeat the Oil Banki and counter its attacks, Hiramechimedes upgraded the Oil Banki. When Go-Ongers fought the Oil Banki, the Wing Engines arrived, and Hiramechimedes arrived in a new Barbaric Dohma SP to reveal Oil Banki's wing upgrade and the Banki overpowered the Wing Engines and the Go-ongers arrived in Engine-Oh and GunBir-Oh with their Go-on Mops to wash away the oil before using holding Oil Banki by his legs and the Wing Engines grounded him as the Engine combinations then use their finishers to destroy the Banki. However, Hiramechimedes fleed.
In the seventeenth episode, the Gaiark used the Happa Banki and sent it to attack the city. Yogostein and Hiramechimedes created a plan to lure the Go-Ongers and Wings to the Mt. Kurogane. The Gaiark attacked the Kurogane and when the Go-Ongers arrived to the mountain, they fell into the trap of Yogostein, Hiramechimedes and Happa Banki and were captured. But at the last second, Hiroto and Miu arrived in the Wing Engines. After taking out the Ugatz, the Go-on Wings overwhelmed Hiramechimedes with their Rocket Daggers before he escaped with Yogostein. While the Gaiark generals escaped, the Happa Banki was defeated and destroyed by the Go-On Wings.
In the eighteenth episode, Hiramechimedes created a plan of luring the Go-Ongers and Wings to the Mt. Kurogane, by kidnapping Miu with the Vacuum Banki. The Banki successfully kidnapped Miu and tied her on the Kurogane. He held her hostage, and demanded Hiroto's Wind Trigger as a ransom. However, Sosuke helped Hiroto and fought the Banki, buying Hiroto time to save Miu. Together, the three Rangers defeated the Vacuum Banki, foiling the villains' plan once more.
In the nineteenth episode, Hiramechimedes invented the new plan, by creating the Nokogiri Banki and sending it to attack the city, however, the Go-Ongers and their friends Go-On Wings again defeated the monster and foiled Hiramechimedes' plan again.
In the twentieth episode, Hiramechimedes sent to Nokogiri Banki, now rebuilt as a Chainsaw Banki, to gather information he needs in the city. The next day when Go-Ongers fought the Chainsaw Banki, the Banki was gathering sand and used this sand as a part of Hiramechimedes' plan and used this sand to cloak himself. When the Go-On Wings appeared, Hiramechimedes arrived and started fighting them. Hiramechimedes fought the Wing Engines on his Barbaric Dohma, while the Go-Ongers fought the Chainsaw Banki. After the Banki used the Industrial Revolution, Hiramechimedes escaped. The Banki fought the Go-Ongers and again was defeated.
After many failed efforts to defeat the Go-Ongers, Yogostein was tired of Hiramechimedes' failures and gave him one last chance to prove his loyalty to him and regain his title. In the twenty-first episode, Hiramechimedes created a plan by sending Fusen Banki to attack the city and fight the Go-Ongers. His plan was a distracting maneuver to distract the Go-Ongers, while the Fusen Banki would inflant Bomper and weaken the Engine-Oh and GunBir-Oh. The Banki While the Rangers fought the Fusen Banki, and the Banki was targeting Bomper, Hiroto fought Hiramechimedes in one-on-one duel. He was beaten by the Go-On Wings and was taken away. His Banki monster was defeated and Bomper was saved. After this failure, Hiramechimedes begged Yogostein for forgiveness and Yogostein no longer considered him his right-hand man.
Eventually, Yogostein gave Hiramechimedes the last chance to regain title and loyalty and together they created a cunning plan to destroy the Go-Onger teams. Hiramechimedes, along with Yogostein and Bōseki Banki, staged his apparent banishment from Hellgaille palace as part of a plan to deceive the Go-Ongers and kill Hiroto. Yogostein acted like banished Hiramechimedes from Gaiark and mortally wounded him and then sent Boseki Banki to pursue and kill him. BosekiBanki pursued Hiramechimedes to the cliff. When the Go-Ongers and Wings arrived, they were late and Banki knocked Hiramechimedes off the cliff. Then they found Hiramechimedes and decided to help him. He was too wounded to attack them and they took him to the Ginjiro-Go and Bomper couldn't help Hiramechimedes, his medical skills weren't enough to heal his wounds. Hiramechimedes then requested the heroes for the last wish, to have the race with Hiroto on their machines Barbaric Dohma SP and Toripter to the Hellgaille's Palace as a goal. Hiroto reluctantly agreed and Hiramechimedes gave Go-On Gold a map, as a proof that he betrayed his former Gaiark allies and helped the Go-Ongers defeat them. However, when they raced and arrived to the "Hellgaille's Palace", Hiramechimedes revealed that both the palace and his wounds were an illusion and that was his trap to regahis honor and title. Hiramechimedes then ordered the Banki to kill Hiroto and Hiroto fought the Banki. However, the Banki wused the Industrial Revolution and Miu arrived with Jetras and Jum-bowhale and formed Seiku-Oh. Banki then fought Seoku-Oh. However, Hiramechimedes used the storm-ridden environment of the island to capture them and Boseki Banki prepared to deliver the final blow. However, then the Go-Ongers arrived on their Engine-Oh and GunBir-Oh and freed Go-On Wings. Go-Ongers were unaware of Hiramechimedes' betrayal and Hiroto and Miu explained to the protagonists that Hiramechimedes deceived them. After realizing that they were tricked, Go-Ongers fought Hiramechimedes and the Boseki Banki. Then Go-Ongers and Go-On Wings formed the Engine-Oh G9 and destroyed the Boseki Banki and nearly killed Hiramechimedes. However, Hiramechimedes escaped and swore revenge.
After his ultimate plan was foiled by the Go-Ongers, Hiramechimedes refused to return to Yogostein out of shame and instead spends his long days of calculation for a means to kill the Go-Ongers. He then attacked the city again and invented new technique to fight the Go-Ongers. He fought the teams and used the new attack, but was again beaten and was forced to retreat. Eventually Hiramechimedes decided that the only way to beat the Go-Ongers is with with raw power rather than with intellect. To obtain more power for himself, Hiramechimedes sneaked back into Hellgaille Palace and despite Yogostein's pleading, infused himself with a hundred times the Bikkurium amount that a Savage Machine Beast needs for "Industrial Revolution", upgrading him into a more insane form called Detaramedes and shattering his mental state with the amout of raw power. Detaramedes later went to fight the Go-Onger teams. He encountered the Go-Ongers in the field. Though he overwhelmed the Seiku-Oh and Engine-Oh G6 and almost defeated Engine-Oh G9 after executing "Big Industrial Revolution", Detaramedes's downfall comes from Sōsuke's reckless refusal to give up. He attempted to kill the heroes, and Hiroto couldn't read his moves. However, Sosuke managed to turn the table as Engine-Oh G9 grabbed Detaramedes and recklessly executes the G9 Grand Prix at close range. Then he returned to his human size and overpowered Hiroto, who still couldn't read his senseless attacks. However, Sosuke helped Hiroto and fought Detaramedes, using his reckless fight style. Hiroto knew Sosuke had a chance of winning and gave him his Rocket Booster. Sosuke eventually defeated and scapped Detaramedes In the end, after the Go-Ongers left, Yogostein arrived and collected the Hacalibur from his friend's remains.
After his death, Yogostein and other Pollution Ministers mourned him. However, Hiramechimedes' ghost appeared and frightened the Pollution Ministers. Meanwhile, the Go-Ongers visited a shrine in the woods, on the camping trip and they encountered Hiramechimedes' ghost, referring to himself as Urameshimedes (ウラメシメデス Urameshimedesu) and he summoned various youkais and asked them to help him get revenge on the Go-Ongers. The youkais scared the heroes and they ran away and met with Hiroto and Miu. Then the monster appeared and attacked Saki. Then Hiramechimedes appeared to the six Go-Ongers and he has teamed up with a demon called Bakki (伐鬼(ばっき) Bakki) from Samurai World. Hiramechimedes recruited Bakki to help him get revenge on the Go-Ongers with Earth's forest as a payment. The Rangers were helped by the mysterious ghost boy whom Saki met. Saki fought the Bakki and defeated him on the ground with the forest spirit powdered Bullet Crash. After the Rangers fought Bakki, the Bakki enlarged and Urameshimedes possessed the monster. However, the monster was too powerful for the Engine-Oh G9 and Sakki advised her comrades to use the purified salt-infused G9 Grand Prix to both destroy Bakki and exorcise Urameshimedes. Even after scaring the Go-Ongers, Hiramechimedes is finally put to rest by another G9 Grand Prix.
After this events, Hiramechimedes' soul was banished to the afterlife and he was never seen again from ever since.
However, Yogostein still wanted to avenge him and so created the Hammer Banki to destroy the Go-Ongers. However, the Banki failed again.
It was later revealed that he had an older brother, Kokorootomedes, before he was scrapped by Sosuke.
Kokorootomedes (ココロオトメデス Kokorootomedesu) was Hiramechimedes's older brother who had the mannerisms and appearance of a drag queen, appearing in Special DVD. He wielded the sword Karadecolibur (キラデコリバー Kiradekoribā). When he upgraded into a powerful form, his mannerisms shifted to that of a Yakuza. He was scrapped by Sosuke. His attacks are Kokorootomedes's Fashion Check Attack (ココロオトメデスのファッションチェック攻撃 Kokorootomedesu no Fasshon Chekku Kōgeki), Love Sparkling Pentagon Star Heart Slash (恋のキラキラ五角形お星様ハート斬り Koi no Kirakira Gokakkei Ohoshi-sama Hāto Giri), and Hissatsu: Battle without Ruler (必殺・定規なき戦い Hissatsu: Jōgi Naki Tatakai).
Personality[]
Hiramechimedes has a difficult personality, which was demonstrated during the series. He is an intelligent, authoritative and determined Banki and is known as Yogostein 's closest ally and advisor. He is highly intelligent and talented determinator, and hates when his intelligence is not acknowledged. This is shown in his flashback, when he wanted to kill Yogostein for not acknowledging his intelligence and take his place as a revenge. However, he became good friends with Yogostein after he acknowledged his intelligence and appointed him as a Gaiark Earth Pollution Vice-Minister. He became his closest soldier and comrade and always helped him with his plans of conquering the Braneworlds and polluting them to make them suitable for their kind. Yogostein loved Hiramechimedes from this point and they cared genuinely about each other.
Hiramechimedes is an extremely intelligent, calculating and cunning. He is known as the Gaiark's greatest military strategist. He can create cunning and unpredictable plans to deceive his enemies. This was best demonstrated in the twenty-second episode where he made the Go-Ongers believe him that he betrayed the Gaiark and turned good. This was false, as he was still loyal to Yogostein and wanted to destroy the Go-Ongers teams to return his loyalty and title. This was arguably Hiramechimedes' most heinous and vile act, as he abused the trust of Go-Ongers when they wanted to help him and even tried to save his life as they thought. When he asked them for his last wish, they believed him, but he betrayed them, proving that he is devoid of compassion to his enemies and is fanatically loyal to Yogostein and wants to satisfy his boss at all costs. He is also cold, deceitful and ruthless, and enjoys taunting his opponents.
Hiramechimedes isn't completely evil. While he was undeniably a villain, but he still loved and was loyal to his race. He genuinely loved Yogostein and it was shown that Yogostein was willing to forgive him for all his failures and allow him to return to Gaiark. Yogostein was deeply upset when Hiramechimedes perished. He mourned him as a friend and wanted to avenge him. This proves that despite his villainous nature, Hiramechimedes still had some humanity and attachment to his close allies and friends.
