Hoaqin is a major antagonist in the adventurer manhwa and webcomic series Tower of God. He was a regular and a slayer who was imprisoned into the Hell Train from a relatively long time prior. In hope of resurrecting Roen Yuia, a comrade of Daniel Hatchid, a regular, he woke up Hoaqin to help him. He soon possessed White during the Nest Arc before his defeat against the irregular Twenty-Fifth Baam, giving his spot to his sibling Vicente to take place of White's possession.
Appearance[]
Hoaqin is an androgynous young man with pale white skin, long striking white-colored hair, and silver-colored eyes. Regardless of his height, he wears a silvery-white crown atop his head and wielded a long Zweihänder with a spiked cross-guard. By absorbing his three of his siblings Vicente, David, and Anna, Hoaqin's appearance, his facial features mature, and his height increases to a model-like stature. His attire becomes slightly different, and his sword gains an ornate design with a red jewel on the guard.
Personality[]
Hoaqin is characterized by his arrogance and regal demeanor, holding himself in high regard, exuding confidence and a sense of superiority. He exhibits a cruel and sadistic streak, showing no hesitation in killing those who provoke him or even on a whim. Hoaqin enjoys toying with people for his amusement, indicating a sinister and manipulative personality. The scene reinforces his ruthless and dangerous character, as well as his capacity for sudden and brutal actions. In the provided image, his bloody hands and surprised or shocked expression suggest he has recently engaged in a violent act, consistent with his described sadistic nature. His despisement for Guides, the leader, and his drive for power show his ambitious nature for sadism. Hoaqin has great leadership skills, demonstrated by his suggestion to merge with his siblings and his control over White before the latter's fall.
Biography[]
Hoaqin hailed from household renowned for exceptional swordsmanship prowesses, gained renown as a prodigious talent who overcame all rivals only with Vicente undefeated in training duels. Motivated to surpass his father, Hoaqin proposed a fusion of his siblings' abilities to mirror their patriarch. During a pivotal sleep, he is encountered by an enigmatic devil who offers him an extensive amount of power in sacrifice of his siblings. Upon waking, Hoaqin discovered the pact had manifested. Chosen for the Tower ascent, Hoaqin unleashed a spell promising elevation, transforming into the amalgamated entity dubbed "White," bound by a dark covenant with the demon. Following a certain event, White fragmented during the Hell Train journey, necessitating sacrifices for a challenging separation and eventual containment. Meeting Boro, Aka, Sachi, Daniel, and Roen aboard the train, Hoaqin sought their loyalty, ultimately securing their compliance through manipulation and coercion. Throughout the journey, he orchestrated a grim competition where Regulars were compelled to eliminate each other to restore his fading power. Amidst the chaos, only five survived: Sachi, Aka, Boro, Daniel, and Roen, the latter meeting an untimely end. Upon departing, Hoaqin ominously pledged to return to the train, hinting at a concealed agenda awaiting realization upon eventually coming back.
