The Holy See (法王庁 Hōōchō) are supporting antagonists in Berserk. It is a corrupt religious order whose purpose is to preach and instill faith and hope in the masses though, in truth, their actual role is to garner and monopolize the wealth for the nobility. Later on, after Griffith's reincarnation, the Holy See religion becomes centered around him, preaching him as their Messiah.
History[]
To destroy any threats to their order, the Holy See enlisted Bishop Mozgus and his group of torturers to go out and eliminate any demonic cults and heretics.
A scripture of the Holy See foretold the coming of a "Falcon of Darkness" who would plunge the world into a new dark age.
After Griffith was reincarnated and fended off the invading forces of the Kushan Empire, the Holy See's Pontiff proclaimed him as their messiah and the divine ruler of Midland.
