The biography of Homelander from the 2019 Amazon TV adaptation of the highly controversial adult comic-book series The Boys, and its spin-off Gen V.
Past[]

Homelander as a child.
Homelander was born in the spring of 1981, having been genetically engineered using the sperm of America’s strongest hero Soldier Boy and an unknown surrogate who was stated to be a runaway Vought paid to carry him to term. Homelander was created by Vought International to be his father’s replacement and more powerful successor to his role as Vought’s premier hero. The day Homelander was born he allegedly tore out of his mother’s womb already violent and aggressive and killed three doctors and a nurse. This led to everybody being afraid of him and treating him very coldy growing up.
Homelander was raised from childhood in a laboratory by Vought and he did not have a proper loving family and he was never told about his true heritage, instead being cared for by the cold and uncaring scientists and researchers who worked in the facility. They also gave him the name John. Growing up the scientists would put him through various torturous experiments to test his power, such as burning him alive, drowning him, and forcing him to fight strength enhanced Vought guards. They would also isolate him for hours in a place he dubbed “The Bad Room”. In that room he would end up talking to himself constantly to quell his loneliness and encourage himself, something he would do for years to come. He grew up being coldly raised by scientists, without love from a true parent, he would develop a very sociopathic personality as an adult, while at the same time clamoring for love to fill the void the lack of a parental figure had created in him. As turns out Vought implanted this idea in his head by having him be visited by the world’s most professional psychologists who made him physiologically depend on the love of others to give him a weakness and prevent him from ever unleashing his wrath upon the world.
Homelander also grew up watching Soldier Boy’s films having respected him due to the fact that he was the only person whose power rivaled his own, completely unaware that Soldier Boy was his father. In fact Homelander’s catchphrase “You guys are the real Heroes”, was actually inspired by Soldier Boy’s line in his movie Red Thunder.
As a child Homelander was also educated about different aspects of American culture in order to condition him to be the perfect superhero and to serve as Vought's mascot. While being educated about thanksgiving, a young Homelander asked his tutor who his father was, to which the tutor responded that technically, Dr. Vogelbaum was his “father”. Homelander then asked if she was his mother, to which she hesitated before responding that yes, she was. Homelander then gave her a hug, only to inadvertently kill her by crushing her spine with his superhuman strength.
In order to cover up his true origins, Vought concocted a fake past for him where he was a farmboy raised in an ordinary household. Because he never knew he had parents, Homelander came to see his manager at Vought Madelyn Stillwell as a surrogate mother for him.

Homelander and Black Noir in the gory aftermath of his first mission
In 1999, during Homelander's debut in the Seven, the CEO of Vought Stan Edgar makes Homelander bring his fellow teammate Black Noir to the stage where the ninja gathers more applause to Homelander's ire. When Madelyn Stillwell warns Homelander that Edgar merely put Black Noir there to spy on him, make sure he followers orders and take him out if he doesn't, true to her word, when she leaves, Homelander catches Black Noir spying on them.
Homelander and Black Noir are tasked with stopping a group of terrorists called the CLF who have taken over a chemical plant and are holding hostages inside. Instead of waiting for Noir, Homelander goes on his own to stop the Terrorists. He manages to detain almost all of the assailants however the last two two threaten to kill one of the hostages but Homelander is able to disable their guns bt twisting the barrels. However one of the terrorists refuses to let up and threatens to shoot anyway and cites that the gun will still explode if the trigger is pulled. Homelander responds by using his heat vision to heat up the gun hoping the assailant would drop it because of the rise in temperature, however all it does is blow up the gun destroying the assailants hand and killing the hostage. The terrorists berate Homelander and explain they didn't want to hurt anyone they just wanted to shut down the chemical plant as it was harming the environment as well as innocent people. Homelander panics and has a breakdown not being able to cope with the idea of being hated instead of loved, and in a fit of blind rage, kills the remaining CLF members as well as one of the hostages he was trying to save. He then snaps back to reality and comes to the horrifying realization of what he has done.
Homelander is then confronted by Black Noir. Though he tries to justify it at first, Homelander concludes that Black Noir would use the incident to get him thrown out of the Seven and tries to kill him. Black Noir tries to get Homelander to stop by waving his hands in a ceasefire gesture, but the latter refuses to listen, forcing them to fight. Despite Homelander's immense power, Black Noir is able to hold his own though throwing knives and smoke pellets.
Eventually, Black Noir tricks him by taking one of the surviving CLF members, tying him up, using a smoke pellet and making Homelander believe the hostage was him, causing him to use his heat vision on one of the reactors, destroying entire power plant. After the surviving worker tries crawl away from Homelander, Black Noir emerges from the debris, but before he can kill them both, Black Noir lifts her up and snaps her neck, shocking Homelander. Black Noir approaches Homelander and draws on a notepad an unknown message, which finally gets Homelander to finally see him as a non-threat. The two later talk in a press conference and blame the destruction on a bomb the CLF had, to which Black Noir holds his hand to his face in grief. Later, as Homelander tells Stillwell that she was wrong about Black Noir and there may be a few things he can teach him. Meanwhile Noir lurks behind them and drinks a hot beverage thus beginning their strong friendship with each other. After this incident it is presumed that Homelander began to believe that he could do whatever he wanted and Vought would always cover for him starting his descent into sociopathic villainy.

Homelander, Becca and Billy Butcher in a Vought Christmas party.
In 2011, at Vought’s Christmas party Homelander had raped his social media manager Rebecca Butcher and unknowingly got her pregnant. Rebecca's pregnancy was kept a secret from both the public and Homelander by Vought, who relocated her and her son to a remote suburban location.
Season 1[]

Homelander destroying the Mayor's jet with his laser beams.
In 2019, Homelander observed a business discussion between Stillwell and the mayor of Baltimore about having Vought's superhero Nubian Prince move to the town to deal with the crime there. After the mayor threatened to release details about Compound V unless Stillwell dropped the price for Nubian Prince from $300 million to $200 million, Homelander flew by the mayor's plane as he was flying back to Baltimore and shot it down with his heat vision, killing the Mayor along with everybody on board.
After Translucent mysteriously went missing, Homelander began to suspect something was amiss and ordered Anika in Vought's tech support to activate Translucent's microchip so they could see where he was. While they were unable to pin down his exact location, they did get a read of the general area he was in, leading Homelander to fly off there to search for him. However, Billy Butcher and Frenchie were able to distract Homelander with a fake explosion several miles from the site they were holding Translucent at, diverting Homelander's attention long enough for Hughie Campbell to activate the bomb Frenchie had shoved up Translucent's behind and kill him.

Homelander and The Deep in a tense meeting.
Translucent's remains were later dumped into the ocean by the Boys, but were recovered by the Deep and brought to Homelander. Homelander was quick to realize that whoever had killed Translucent was targeting them and had knowledge of their powers, as they had used a box made of zinc to hide the remains (which was the one material Homelander could not see through with his X-Ray vision) and had written "Coming For You" on the inside of the box.
As Vought pushed for superheroes to be let into the United States military, Homelander and Queen Maeve were given a test to see if they would be a good fit, being set to rescue the hijacked Flight 371 and its passengers. Boarding the plane, Homelander easily took out three of the terrorists who had hijacked it with his heat vision. After comforting the passengers, Homelander and Queen Maeve went to the cockpit to deal with the fourth and final terrorist. They discovered the terrorist had already killed the co-pilot of the plane and were unable to stop him in time before he slit the throat of the pilot. Homelander killed the terrorist with his heat vision, but inadvertently damaged to control panel of the plane as well. Realizing the plane was doomed to crash, Homelander chose to leave the plane in order to avoid responsibility. Queen Maeve pleaded with him to save some of the passengers, including a little girl and her mother, but Homelander refused as they had seen what had really happened. After grabbing Queen Maeve, Homelander flew off from the plane and abandoned it to crash into the ocean, killing everyone on board.
After the plane's wreckage was recovered, Homelander stated to the media that he and Queen Maeve had only gotten there a few minutes after the plane had crashed, blaming the fact that he and other superheroes were not let into the military chain of command for the plane crashing and claiming that, had they been, they would have been able to get there on time. He ended his speech by urging Americans to contact their congressmen to let superheroes into the military.
After discovering that knowledge of Compound V had gotten out, Homelander suspected that A-Train's girlfriend Popclaw had something to do with it and sent him to get the truth from her. After A-Train got Popclaw to admit who had blackmailed her into giving them the Compound V, A-Train killed her under Homelander's orders and staged her death to look like a drug overdose.
Homelander and the Seven were further given a lead as to who was responsible for killing Translucent and stealing the V when Mesmer approached them with information, giving them the faces of the five members of the Boys. Homelander recognized one of the people as Hughie Campbell, the boyfriend of fellow Seven member Starlight, and called a meeting of the Seven to discuss his findings. During the meeting, Homelander stated that the other Seven members (with the exception of Black Noir) had gotten lazy and confronted Starlight over her relationship with Hughie, believing she was involved with them. However, Queen Maeve was able to persuade Homelander to spare Starlight, convincing him that Hughie had just used her and that she had no knowledge of what he was doing.
Homelander also recognized another member of the Boys as Billy Butcher, the husband of his former social media manager Rebecca who had mysteriously disappeared, and went to Stillwell for answers. Stillwell pointed him to Dr. Vogelbaum, the scientist who had created him, and Homelander traveled to his estate to get answers. Vogelbaum revealed to Homelander that Rebecca had gotten pregnant, but told him that while Vought was trying to deliver the baby, it had clawed its way out of her womb and drowned in its mother's blood. Vogelbaum then stated that Homelander was his greatest failure, as he had raised him without compassion and without knowing a mother's love. Homelander then affirmed that he was a success and was the world's greatest superhero before leaving. Recognizing several inconsistencies between Stillwell and Vogelbaum's stories, Homelander realized they were still partly lying to him and kept searching for the truth.
The Seven and Vought soon set out to round up the Boys, but before they could the Boys turned over all the evidence they had collected to the CIA in exchange for protection for themselves and their families. With the evidence that Vought was conducting human experiments with Compound V, the CIA was set to take legal action against Vought, putting their deal to allow superheroes into the military in jeopardy. To put pressure on the government to pass the bill, Homelander had A-Train run the Compound V to various terrorist groups and conduct human experiments to create "super-terrorists" for the Seven and other superheroes to fight. After footage of the super-terrorists Homelander had secretly engineered reached the CIA, the U.S. government was left with no choice but to cancel their investigation into Vought and allow superheroes into the military. Thus, while the Boys' families were safe, the Boys were declared fugitives and lost their CIA protection. Mother's Milk, Frenchie and Kimiko were captured but Hughie and Butcher managed to escape. While Hughie left to go rescue his friends, Butcher went on alone to get revenge on Homelander.
Breaking into Stillwell's house, Butcher took her hostage, hoping to use her against Homelander since she was the one person he cared about. Homelander soon arrived at Stillwell's mansion and walked into the room Butcher was keeping Stillwell carrying Stillwell's infant son Teddy. Ignoring Stillwell's pleas to put Teddy in his room, Homelander mocked Butcher for thinking he could use Stillwell against him and revealed to Stillwell that he knew the real truth about what had happened to Rebecca and his son before killing her by zapping her through the eyes with his heat vision. Butcher then activated the bombs he had placed on Stillwell's body in a futile attempt to kill Homelander, knocking himself out. When he awoke, he found Homelander had flown him to an inconspicuous house in the suburbs, which was in fact the house that Rebecca had been relocated to. Homelander then revealed the truth to Butcher just as Rebecca walked outside with her son Ryan. Homelander then approached Ryan and revealed he was his father as Butcher stared at his wife in shock.
Season 2[]
In Season 2, Homelander is first seen giving a speech at Translucent's grand funeral, lying about Translucent's last words and moments with The Seven, he then proceeded to fake his grief in front of a live audience and his peers. Not long after, Ashley proceeded to introduce Homelander to a possible new recruit for The Seven to take Translucent's place, a blind martial arts hero called Blindspot. Annoyed and dissapointed at the thought of recruiting a "cripple", Homelander proceeded to bursts both of Blindspot's eardrums, leaving him in agony and uselessness. Homelander attends a focus group session before proceeding to a fake military-base set for a filming of a patriotic US army commercial alongside Queen Maeve only to be interrupted by a newly recruited member of The Seven, Stormfront, who was recruited by Vought themselves without Homelander's or Ashley's knowledge. Stormfront proceeded to expose the fake military-base set via instagram live, annoying both Homelander and Maeve. Angered, Homelander confronted Stan Edgar on not consulting him first but gets rebuffed and ridiculed instead by Edgar himself.
Homelander then spends the majority of his time bonding with his son Ryan, much to Becca's dismay. Homelander tries to manipulate him into using "his powers" but to no avail. In a final attempt to get his son to use his powers, Homelander throws him off the roof of his house, severely injuring him, however, he awakens and heals before being taken inside the house by Becca. Homelander returns to The Seven's headquarters and defies Edgar's authority and proceeds to lead The Seven on a mission to hunt down and put an end to The Boys once and for all. During the mission in the tunnels, he encounters a knocked-down Hughie Campbell courtesy of Starlight, and exercises his promised second chance by ordering her to kill him. As his demand grows increasingly absolute and threatening, he is distracted by Billy Butcher, and momentarily incapacitated by Kenji Miyashiro. Later on, Stormfront proceeds to kill Kenji, much to Homelander's disappointment as he wanted to kill him personally. Stormfront mocks Homelander for "coming up short", which angers him as she is now seen as the main hero of the day by the media.
Showing a little remorse for killing Madelyn Stillwell, he forces Doppelganger to shape shift himself into her and keeps him in a remote cabin where he occasionally visits to relive the affection and sex that Stillwell gave him. In light of her hesitation in the tunnel, he later tracks Starlight to the Vought Tower's elevator. He viciously confronts and threatens to kill her over her true allegiances. She desperately convinces him she spared Hughie's life out of morality, not affection, and he leaves her rattled. After Stormfront's speech against Vought, various memes started popping up, mocking Homelander. Angered, he confronts her and nearly lasers her when she provokes him. Intimidated, she apologizes and advises him not to seek the love and attention of people, Homelander dismisses her and warns her not to get in his way before leaving. He then returns to Doppelganger, this time no longer attracted to Doppelganger's likeness to Stillwell as well as contemplating his need for love and attention, Doppelganger then proceeds to transform himself into Homelander himself in an attempt to please and arouse him. Homelander is intrigued and aroused at first, but he ultimately kills him as he comes to a conclusion that he needs no one to love him other than himself.
Homelander is next seen starring in and producing an over-the-top film adaption of his team. On set, Ashley tells him that a video of him killing a superpowered terrorist as well as an innocent civilian by accident went viral online, sparking outrage which causes a huge protest against him outside the Vought building, losing 9 points in the process. Angered and in panic, he heads over to the protest to try and win the people over as well as justify his actions to no avail. Homelander briefly fantasizes himself slaughtering all of the protesters when they began to insult him. Humiliated, Homelander flees the scene and reluctantly seeks help from Stormfront to help clear his image up to an extent through the use of memes and various social media tactics. After receiving extra 5 points with her help, both of them head over to Stormfront's apartment at the Vought tower and has rough sex with her where he discovers her regenerative healing and thus, beginning a twisted romance between the two.
After their sexual encounter, Homelander and Stormfront would proceed to commit various acts of depravity and perversion such as when Stormfronts strokes and teases Homelander's penis as he smashes a robber's head against the brick wall at an alleyway before proceeding to have sex with her at the exact same spot. Later that day, at the film set, Homelander invites Stormfront to his trailer for a surprise but she tells him she has an important meeting at Vought tower and will meet him at his trailer in 20 minutes. The surprise turned out to be a bouqet of flowers with a love letter written by Homelander to Stormfront of which Homelander plans to give to her as he has fallen in love with her. He proceeds to wait for her arrival but after 20 minutes, he heads over to the Vought tower to check on her only to realise that she lied to him and isn't there. Frustrated and angry, he heads back to his trailer and destroys it completely into flames. Stormfront eventually returns to the film set and is coldy brushed off by Homelander as he feels as though she is keeping secrets from him, much like Madelyn Stillwell did before.
Later on, Homelander eventually confronts Stormfront about it at her apartment and as it appears as he is about to snap, Stormfront calms him down by showing him her past life as Fredrick Vought's wife, her devotion to neo-nazism, her Lady Liberty costume and her daughter who passed away of alzheimer's a few years back. She reveals to him that she alongside Vought plan to start and end a race war between supes and humans and that Homelander himself would lead on in the battle against the inferior races, to top it all off, she tells him that she loves him dearly and that she alongside him would never have to be alone ever again which prompts Homelander to kiss her passionately, therefore, expressing his love and approval for her.
Homelander and Stormfront would go on to start a campaign against villainous supes where he reveals publically, live on TV that Starlight, who was captured by Black Noir earlier that day is a traitor. Afterwards, Homelander notices Stormfront sadly reminiscing of the birth of her late daughter which prompts him to introduce her to his son, Ryan. He does so and has his son bond with Stormfront as a second motherly figure. Becca begs him not to seperate Ryan from her to which he agrees. However, he would go on and reveal to Ryan that he lives in a fake neighbourhood created by Vought to shield him and Becca, causing him to retaliate against his mother and leave with Homelander and Stormfront as Becca helplessly watches. The next day however, Homelander, Stormfront, Maeve and Ashley attend a court hearing to charge Vought for illegal experimentation.
Dr. Josef Vogelbaum is called out to testify against Vought but before he could, heads began exploding in the courtroom, including his own, killing him. Homelander and Stormfront confusely watches as the everyone in the courtroom attempts to flee while their heads explode as Maeve tries to rescue whomever she can.
Homelander would go on to question the incident at the trial but Stormfront assures him that what happened benefited them both. Homelander would go on to take both Stormfront and Ryan out for lunch at Vought Tower where he is bombarded by dozens of fans, causing Ryan to freak out which prompts him to take Ryan to his cabin in the woods where he confesses his love for his son much to Stormfront's delight. However, his father-son bonding with Ryan is soon interrupted when soundwaves caused by Billy Butcher as a distraction triggers, sending Homelander away from the cabin to track down it's source. When he returns, he discovers several Vought officers in his cabin looking for Ryan.
Coming to a realisation that his son is gone, he angrily demands an answer from the officers before killing them. As this is happening, Stormfront is getting beaten up by Starlight, Queen Maeve and Kimiko before flees the scene to track down Billy Butcher, Becca and Ryan in the woods. Homelander reaches the scene to find a terrified Ryan, Becca dead and Stormfront badly burnt and mutilated by Ryan after she tried to kill Becca which prompted him to laser her which killed Becca by accident. Homelander sadly gazes at Stormfront's vulnerable and horrific state before reaching out to Ryan to come with him. However, Ryan refuses and chooses to side with Billy Butcher instead, angering Homelander and as he is about to kill Butcher, Maeve arrives and blackmails him into letting her, Starlight, Butcher and Ryan go otherwise, she would leak footage of him refusing to save the passengers from the plane some time ago. Not wanting to tarnish the love people have for himself, Homelander reluctantly agrees and takes Stormfront to a facililty where she is treated and presumably imprisoned for her crimes.
Homelander publically adresses Stormfront, her crimes and also reinstating Starlight back into the Seven. He is then last seen, pants off, masturbating at the top of Chrysler Tower, uttering the words "I can do whatever I want" over and over again until he orgasms.
Season 3[]
After the events of Season 2, Vought capitalizes on Stormfront's actions by releasing a director's cut of the superhero movie Dawn of The Seven called Dawn of The Seven: The Bourke Cut of which Homelander and the rest of The Seven starred in with actress Charlize Theron portraying Stormfront as the main villain. Homelander reluctantly watches the movie during its premiere along with his fellow teammates before attending the media scrum afterwards. Homelander's sanity at the same is slowly declining at this point causing him to lash out at his fellow Seven members, while waiting backstage for his interview with Cameron Coleman live, he is greeted by The Deep whose popularity increased due to the amount of sympathy he received from the public after he released his semi-autobiography detailing his time with the Church of the Collective, making Homelander jealous, The Deep notices this which prompted him to put Homelander over himself in order to avoid his wrath. During the interview itself, Homelander is questioned regarding his previous relationship with Stormfront prompting him to begrudgingly call himself as human as everyone else.
Homelander and Starlight would soon be called upon by Stan Edgar to a meeting where informs them of Vought's intentions to have Starlight as a co-captain which angers Homelander. Later, he bumps into A-Train and berates him over his weight gain, when A-Train curses him behind his back, Homelander hears it and angrily snaps at him as his eyes start to glow red, fearful for his life, A-Train repeatedly apologizes before Homelander leaves the scene. Homelander would later visit Stormfront in Vought's medical facility to let out his feelings as well as to receive a handjob from her while she boosts his ego. While pleasuring him, she reminds him of her dream to have him lead a race of Aryans against all races which disinterests Homelander who turns her down and leaves, much to her dismay.
After he leaves, Homelander attempts to do his "annual birthday save", by rescuing Chelsea, a young girl about to commit suicide by jumping off a tall building. After conversing with her, a screen on the building behind him reveals Stormfront committed suicide. Angered she would do such a thing on his birthday, Homelander forces Chelsea to jump off the building anyway. During his televised birthday, after Starlight says that Homelander would willingly donate money to her new orphan home, Homelander snaps, and rants on live TV about how his superiority, claiming he is the real hero.
The next day, Homelander learns that his rant has in actuality boosted his numbers, and, believing himself to be untouchable, begins exerting more control over Starlight. During "American Hero", a reality show to determine the next member of the Seven, Homelander attempts to convince Starlight to let the Deep rejoin the Seven, rather than any of the contestants. When Starlight, who had been raped by The Deep, refuses, threatening Homelander with the footage of the plane crash, Homelander decides to privately threaten her, proclaiming he will destroy the world should the footage be leaked. Fearful, Starlight willingly lets the Deep back into the Seven, while Homelander forces Starlight to reveal herself as his girlfriend during the ending of "American Hero".
Fearful of Homelander's growing autonomy, Edgar goes to his adopted daughter, Victoria Neuman, an anti-super congresswoman who secretly possesses powers herself, to convince her to openly acknowledge Homelander's speech to subtly threaten him. However, Homelander visits Neuman and asks her to instead accuse Edgar of corruption during the press conference, in exchange for Compound V to give to her daughter. At the same time, Supersonic, who is secretly working with Starlight, attempts to recruit A-Train to the cause, only for A-Train to tell Homelander of the coup. As a result, Homelander kills Supersonic and shows Starlight his corpse threatening to do the same to Hughie should she step out of line.
Later, Maeve gives Temp V, a version of Compound V that gives the user powers for only 24 hours, to Butcher, and later drinks and has sex with him. Smelling Butcher's odor on Maeve the next day, Homelander has Black Noir kidnap her. At the same time, Soldier Boy, who had been held captive by the Russians for over 30 years, is freed by The Boys, and escapes and causes destruction in New York. Homelander falsely claims the situation is fine, but is frightened by the discovery of the identity of the perpetrator. Having discovered the death of Crimson Countess, Homelander sends the Deep to inform the TNT Twins of Soldier Boy's impending arrival. When Homelander arrives, Soldier Boy has killed the Twins and destroyed most of their mansion. There, he confronts a superpowered Butcher and Hughie, as well as Soldier Boy, who almost manage to kill him. Horrified, Homelander confronts Maeve about what she has done, and reveals his intention to harvest her eggs for children of his own. He later arrives at a rally, where he rants about Starlight and almost kills a civilian he mistakes for Soldier Boy. There, Neuman offers Ryan's location in exchange for killing Robert Singer's VP, allowing her to take his role. When Starlight shows up at the tower, Homelander threatens her, as she had done a livestream regarding Homelander's crimes. However, Starlight records the conversation, causing Vought's stock to drop massively.
Later, Soldier Boy, who had discovered Homelander was made from his sperm, calls Homelander, hoping to meet him. Homelander then finds Ryan and takes him to Vought Tower, and also tells the Deep to assassinate the VP. Later, he confronts Butcher, Maeve, and Soldier Boy. He reveals Ryan and attempts to convince Soldier Boy to join their family, only for Soldier Boy to regard him as an attention-starved pussy and a disappointment. In the ensuing fight, Butcher turns against Soldier Boy, leaving Maeve to fight Homelander one on one. Homelander gouges out one of Maeve's eyes, but she manages to fend him off long enough to take down Soldier Boy, seemingly sacrificing herself in the process. Homelander considers fighting Butcher, but is encouraged by Ryan to leave. In the aftermath, Homelander meets his followers, and reveals Ryan as his son to the world. When a Starlight supporter throws a can at Ryan, Homelander murders him with his laser vision, much to the pleasure of Ryan and the Crowd.
Gen V[]

“ | Homelander: What kind of animal are you? Marie Moreau: What? Homelander: Do you like attacking your own kind? Marie Moreau: No, I-- Homelander: Stay back! |
„ |
~ Homelander before blasting Marie with his heat vision. |
Homelander was called by Ashley Barrett during the massacre at Godolkin University, caused by both Cate Dunlap and Sam Riordan. After seeing Marie Moreau exploding Cate's arm, Homelander lasers Marie and stops her from stopping Cate and her massacre. Vought International then frames the massacre on Marie and other students while saying that Cate and Sam stopped them, thus being framed as the heroes, the "Guardians of Godolkin".
