The Homework Hydra is a minor antagonist of the Netflix series adaptation of the Captain Underpants franchise, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, serving as the main antagonist of "The Horrible Hostilities of the Homework Hydra".
Biography[]
Due to their dislike of homework, George and Harold decide to visit Melvin Sneedly's house to steal his Time Toad 2000 in order to travel back to ancient Egypt and prevent the creation of homework. Once they succeed, George and Harold choose to create a new comic to share their heroic deeds with everyone. However, when they attempt to distribute the comics for others to read, they discover that not only have they eliminated homework, but they have also eradicated comics. Unfortunately, George and Harold can only bring back comics if they also restore homework.
They are not alone in their misfortune; it turns out that as the children become happier, the teachers, particularly Mr. Krupp, become increasingly depressed. However, Ms. Ribble finds a copy of the comic and, upon discovering the word "homework," becomes shocked and devises an evil plan. Soon after Ms. Ribble explains the concept of homework to the other teachers, they become enamored with the idea. However, their collective excitement causes them to stomp around joyfully, resulting in them falling through the floor and crashing onto Ms. Anthrope and her copier machine, landing in a vat of cement. Eventually, all five teachers merge with the copier, turning them into Homework Hydra from George and Harold’s comic, and the hybrid monster began to terrorize the kids. This left George and Harold to decide to go get Captain Underpants, to stop them.
However, when George and Harold get to Krupp's office, they find out if their Captain Underpants comics do not exist, Captain Underpants cannot exist either. They then resolve to retrace Captain Underpants' origin story. After acquiring a 3-D Hypno-Ring and Extra Strength Super Power Juice, Mr. Krupp transforms back into Captain Underpants and attempts to battle the Homework Hydra but fails, becoming trapped in Mr. Meaner, whose face resembles a butt. Eventually, Melvin appears, revealing himself to be camouflaged with fake homework, and fires a red laser. George and Harold discover that teachers are just as fond of red laser dots as they are of homework, and they plan to gather a lot of paper to tear apart. Fortunately, Melvin possesses numerous lasers.
George, Harold, and Melvin work together to distract the Hydra with lasers, directing them at the center of the creature. The Hydra, drawn to the lasers, causes an explosion with toner, separating the teachers from the copier machine. With the threat neutralized, George and Harold are met with glares from their classmates, as they are the ones responsible for the return of homework.
