The Homunculi, sometimes known as "Creatures" or also simply "Tooth Fairies", are a mythical race of small nocturnal fairy-like creatures from the netherworld and the main antagonists of 1973 ABC made-for-TV horror film Don't Be Afraid of the Dark and the 2011 fantasy horror film of the same name.
History
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973 film)
It starts when Sally and her husband Alex inherited the mansion from her recently deceased grandmother shortly after she discovered a fireplace whom her grandmother put sealed for secret, later Sally become haunted by dark, goblin-like creatures which caused her husband and friends to worry about her health or didn't believe her, but in the end Sally was taken by the goblins into fireplace.
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2011 film)
8 Year old Sally's parents were divorced and sent her to live her father and girlfriend Kim. while playing on the outside Sally had notice the fireplace in another room and opened it Harris, one of workers has know about the dark past and warned Sally about.Sally become haunted by the Homunculi which her father didn't believed in and worried about her health since his ex-wife abandoned Sally and Kim tried her best as a good mother but it took worse Sally was framed for ripping Kim's dress on closet and witness Harris being attacked and told Kim about the house with a dark secret. Eventually Kim learns about the truth - 200 years ago when Lord Blackwood's son was kidnapped and killed by the Homunculi, Blackword plead to see his son by killing the maid before he was killed. Kim's blood was exchange for Sally's life from the Homunculi and taken her away Kim's sacrifice left. Sally breaks into tears and kill one of the Homunculi in rage. A few days later Alex and Sally visiting their home when Sally gave drawing for Kim while Kim becomes a Homunculus as her own voice speaks with an echoing sinister tone among the voices of the demonic fairies that forever lurks and hides in the dark.
