The Horrororosos are a gaggle of ghoulish monkey-like demons in service of Quetzalcoatl. They create this by sucking the life force from most of Puebla's townsfolk and turning them into zombie-like beings, becomes in their case, main antagonists of the first episode and supporting antagonists for the rest of the season in Legend Quest.

When the people of Puebla start turning into zombies, Leo and the gang are the only ones who can save them, not only from some maniac monkeys who were responsible for this zombie apocalypse, but their creator Quetzalcoatl, who is not in a good mood.

Its vocal effects come from Roly Gutiérrez and Rafael Marin in both languages, hispanic and english.

Types of Horrorosos[]

Infantry soldiers[]

Are often portrayed as silly, childish and incredibly petty. Make no mistake however, Horrorosos are just as cruel and vicious as their master. They enjoy playing and toying with their victims, laughing at their misfortune, and kicking them while they're down. They're shockingly intelligent and act more like younger humans than monkeys, not to mention they can perform feats of superhuman strength. Subverted in the fact that despite their intelligence, they often get confused over trivial matters.

History[]

Night Incident[]

That night, Leo hears noises in his grandmother's room, and upon entering he sees a strange monkey extracting something from his grandmother's mouth. She wakes up possessed and white-eyed, and tells Leo that she join them. Horrified, Leo goes out to ask for help only to find all the townspeople in the same situation.

In the monastery, Friar Godofredo tells Leo that he already knows that he can see ghosts, because in every town there is a person with that ability. Fray Godofredo explains that these strange monkeys are called horrible, and they serve Quetzalcóatl to use the vitality of the living to feed a portal that brings his master to this dimension. He mentions that Quetzalcóatl intends to end the world and start over. They climb the bell tower and realize that all the possessed are heading to the center of town, to feed the portal that is opening. Friar Godofredo searches a book for the recipe for a magic bomb capable of closing the portal.

Leo takes a box out of the barn and when he opens it, the flying ship unfolds. Fray Godofredo hands them the bomb on top of the bell tower, while they are already on the ship, and they go to the portal. When dropping the bomb, she is stopped by one of the horrifying before which Leo is going to recover it swinging from a rope ladder of the ship and manages to throw it with a kick to the center of the portal. The portal closes and all the inhabitants regain their vitality. Leo falls onto a straw cart, protected by Marcela's necklace. The townspeople thanks him for saving them.

In Dream's World[]

After being comatose because of the Mart, Leo was in his dreams as a revolutionary hero and faced a group of Horrorosos who had surrounded Marcela. At the time that Don Andrés entered the world of dreams, the Horrorosos would be seen in the "mexican town" enslaving its inhabitants and serving a Leo San Juan who had become the vassal of Quetzalcoatl.
