House of Capulet are a family of nobles in Romeo + Juliet and main antagonists in the film.
History[]
The family was founded by Fulgencio Capulet and his wife, Gloria. They are the arch-rivals of The Montagues and both families are feuding in Verona Beach over territory.
The Capulets first appear in the film when, Montague members; Benvolio, Sampson, and Gregory arrive at the gas station. Sampson bites his thumb at Abra, and then Tybalt along with Abra and Petruchio fight with The Montagues, Tybalt ends up setting the gas station on fire and a riot ensues in the streets of Verona Beach, the fight is broken up by Captain Prince later on. Fulgencio Capulet decides to host a party at his mansion. Romeo, Mercutio and The Montague Boys arrive at the party and Tybalt notices Romeo, he attempts to fight him, but Fulgencio stops him from doing so. Romeo falls in love with Capulet's daughter, Juliet Capulet and Romeo sneaks into the see her, he proposes and the two later get married the next day. Tybalt was still angry about Romeo showing up to the party and he along with Abra and Petruchio arrive at the beach, he tells Mercutio that Romeo is with him and Mercutio tries to fight Tybalt, Romeo arrives and Tybalt beats him up, Tybalt ends up stabbing Mercutio with a shard of glass and Mercutio dies, Romeo then chases down Tybalt and kills him, Balthasar then arrives and drives Romeo away from the scene, The Prince announces that Romeo is banished. The next day, Juliet finds out the Dave Paris want to marry her and refuses, Fulgencio gets angry and threatens to disown her, Juliet goes to Father Laurence and he gives a sleeping potion to fake her death in order to live in Mantua with Romeo. Romeo doesn't get the letter from Father Laurence and Balthasar tells Romeo that Juliet is dead, Romeo goes back to Verona Beach and gets chased by the authorities for his return, he buys a poison and goes to Juliet's tomb, he takes the poison just as Juliet wakes up and he dies, Juliet then shoots herself and dies, the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are found out and coroners take away the bodies, after this Ted Montague, Romeo's father and Fulgencio Capulet, Juliet's father, put all tension aside and reconcile their families due to deaths of their children.
