Hugo is a minor antagonist-turned-supporting protagonist of the Filipino 2023 action drama series Black Rider.
He is the loyal butler of the Magallanes family, and the commander of Edgardo Magallanes’goons. Despite of his old age, he is still seen to be superior, mean-spirited, and physically capable individual as seen that he can still do his best on his job and prove his loyalty to the Golden Scorpion syndicate.
He is portrayed by Archie Adamos.

He was once a loyal henchman of Edgardo’s father who was assigned to be Edgardo’s partner and second-in-command to their criminal syndicate known as Golden Scorpion. Upon Golden Scorpion has been formed by Edgardo, he worked with him throughout the years and served his loyalty to the family and syndicate.
As Black Rider, Romana, Sabel, Sen. William Romero, Tiagong Dulas, and the authorities have infiltrated their hideout in Isla Alakdan, he was seen dueling with Tiagong Dulas in one of the buildings in the island which resulted that the latter have knocked him down. Regaining consciousness, he catches up Edgardo to be severely injured by Elias and managed to prevent Elias further harming him by helping him escape from Elias. With his attempt to escape Edgardo he was dispersed from his master thanks to Sen. William who betrayed the Golden Scorpion by killing almost their men and arresting Edgardo.
Later on, he was seen hiding on a remote hillside lying low and planning alongside with the remaining goons of the Golden Scorpion how will they help escape Edgardo. They soon terrorized the jail facility where Edgardo is imprisoned causing the latter further escape. As Edgardo Magallanes escaped and regains Golden Scorpion, he continued his support to Edgardo in their plans.
Personality[]
Hugo is seen to be loyal individual to his boss Edgardo, as seen multiple times in the series such as helping and obeying Edgardo and the Golden Scorpion by doing his best what can benefit their operations.
He is also seen helping Calvin standing up after being beaten and lashed out by Edgardo, stating that he is not just purely loyal to Edgardo but also to Calvin, meaning that he balances his loyalty to both Edgardo and Calvin. However, in the pilot episode, he was seen reprimanding Calvin to stop harassing their captives, stating that he also makes way to stop Calvin anything that will backfire the syndicates plans. At one point, he is willing to obey the order to kill Calvin and his friends if anyone escapes Edgardo’s home, as requested by Edgardo dismayed for his son’s another reckless action indicating that he has more loyalty to Edgardo.
In terms of Golden Scorpion, he stated that he sacrificed a lot where he killed a lot of opposing members for the sake of the syndicate’s protection. He mentioned this upon he confronted Calvin, and the two pointed gun to each other. However, he partly spared Calvin for his loyalty to Edgardo.
