Humarise (ヒューマライズ Hyūmaraizu in Japanese) is a cult which serves as the main antagonists of My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission. They are a global cult led by Flect Turn which believes in the Quirk Doomsday Theory, seeing Quirks as a curse on humanity and planning to commit genocide on Pro Heroes and a majority of Quirk users (except themselves) to cause the downfall of Quirk society.
Biography[]
The Humarise cult was founded by Flect Turn under the belief that Quirks were a danger to humanity as predicted by the Quirk Doomsday Theory, and seemingly preached to eradicate most of the Quirk population while leaving non-Quirk users intact. He recruited many members around the world to join his cause to destroy Quirk society, many of whom had Quirks themselves and joining due to feeling ashamed of their Quirks or not wanting to be killed off. They kidnapped several scientists and forced them to create Trigger Bombs for them under the threat of killing their families. A few scientists, such as Allan Kay and Eddie Soul, refused to take their threats any longer so they tried to escape, with the latter being killed after creating a key to stop the Trigger Bombs.
Humarise deployed Trigger Bombs all over the world, intending to detonate them so any Quirk users caught within the blast will have their Quirks become uncontrollable before dying shortly after. They aimed to lure Pro Heroes to the bombs so they would be killed as well and the countries they protected would collapse. When Allan Kay escaped with a briefcase containing incriminating information about Humarise, he was hunted down by Beros, who critically injured him and made him lose the briefcase.
Meanwhile in Otheon, Izuku Midoriya got into a scuffle with Rody Soul after the latter stole a briefcase full of stolen jewels, but it ended up being swapped with Allan's briefcase. Just as they realized that the briefcases were swapped, Izuku was suddenly hunted down by the Otheon police, due to him being framed for the murder of twelve people and becoming a wanted criminal, when in truth Humarise had conspired with the police to frame Izuku after one of the bombs detonated early and caused those deaths in the first place.
With the heroes finding out that the evidence in the briefcase contained all of the fundamental information about Humarise, they got a message from Flect Turn saying that he would detonate all of the Trigger Bombs across the world in two hours. Izuku, Katsuki and Shoto travelled to Humarise's real headquarters to deal with the threat, with Katsuki facing off against the twin Serpenters and Shoto fighting the gigantic Leviathan. Izuku reached the main hub and confronted Flect Turn, where the leader told him of his backstory of having a horrible life due to his Reflect Quirk causing him to be unable to make friends, so he realized that Quirks were a curse and therefore they had to be eradicated to save humanity. Izuku, however, calls out his excuse, saying he was just pushing his own pain onto the world using a theory with no solid proof and in truth, Flect gave up on humanity. This caused Flect to explode into a rage, trying to kill Izuku by beating him up and using his lasers.
During the battle, Rody seemingly turned on Izuku went over to hand the key to Flect Turn to protect his family, but Pino (whom was a manifestation of Rody's true emotions and intentions) alerted that Rody's betrayal was an act to catch Flect off guard. Flect managed to overpower Deku, shrugging off his attacks with Reflect before knocking out Rody, quipping how both father and son died in vain. Izuku got back up and refused to give up, using all of his power to break through Flect's reflection before defeating him, causing his reflective skin to fade away. Flect told him that the bombs were minutes away from detonation, but Rody and Pino managed to deactivate the bombs in time, saving the world from being purged by Humarise.
In the end, Flect Turn and all of the surviving members of Humarise were arrested by the Otheon police, but Beros chose to jump off to death rather than being caught.
