Humpty Dumpty appears as an antagonist and unlockable character in the 2005 fighting game Shrek SuperSlam, based on the Shrek franchise, and later appears in the 2006 racing game Shrek Smash n' Crash Racing as one of the 12 racers. He is generally considered to be a different character from his counterpart who later appeared in the 2011 spin-off film Puss in Boots, as well as Goldilocks.
This version of Humpty is voiced by James Arnold Taylor.
Biography[]
Shrek SuperSlam[]
Humpty Dumpty stands out as one of the 20 playable characters in the game, being one of the 10 that need to be unlocked during the player's progression in "Challagenge" mode.
In story mode, Humpty Dumpty makes his first appearance in Fiona's story level for the Dronkeys, where she battles Humpty, who appears as a Kung Fu master called "Master Fu".
He later appears in Donkey's story level, where, along with Captain Hook and Gingerbread Man (all three taking on the roles of cooks, with Humpty taking on the role of the night's challenger), they battle Donkey, thinking he is a secret ingredient for a plate.
In Challenge Mode, Humpty is unlocked after completing a level where the player takes control of him to get all the golden eggs out of a giant bowl, with a timer.
Shrek Smash n' Crash Racing[]
The second and last appearance of this version of Humpty Dumpty. He is one of 12 playable racers who have to be unlocked during the game's progression. His vehicle is a Chicken Cup.
Appearance[]
In both of his appearances, Humpty is portrayed as an egg with a human face (just like his film counterpart and most of his incarnations), with blue eyes, yellow gloves, green shorts with suspenders, and brown shoes. In his appearance as a racer, he wore brown goggles.
In addition to being a talking egg, Humpty looks completely different from his film version, hence why they are considered separate characters.
Trivia[]
- In addition to all the design differences in this version of Humpty, he also appears to be much older than his film self, which is made even more notable by his tone of voice in both of his appearances.
- It's quite possible that his film counterpart took some inspiration from his appearance in Shrek SuperSlam, such as the stage where he has to steal the golden eggs in the giant's castle (similar to the film, where he, along with Puss and Kitty, steal the Golden Goose that lays golden eggs from the giant's castle), or the stage where Puss in Boots has to protect him from being attacked, which is even called "Best Friends" (very similar to Puss's relationship with Humpty in the film).
