It doesn't matter if you warn them. These kinds of guys will never change. They'll just do the same shit again. Getting rid of them is the only way.
~ Hun Jo's thoughts on bad people.

Hun Jo is the main antagonist of the webtoon See No Evil. He is an economics and finances major at Gwangama University. He is also the second child of a wealthy family and a serial killer who targets people he deems to be evil.

Personality[]

On the outside, Hun is kind, cheery and a good student, making him very popular. He is also friendly and wishes to help out however he can. It doesn't seem like he's (completely) faking this facade, as his inner thoughts are about mostly about stuff like classwork and friends. This guise is likely taken from his late mother's personality who inspired him to "not fight with friends" and "be the first to forgive".

Hun3

Hun Jo's sadistic side.

On the inside, Hun is a very cruel and sadistic serial killer who targets bad people like perverts and bullies who he views as unneeded in society. He believes in killing them so there are "no more victims like his mother". He will, however, also abuse people for going against him by delving into his true nature, despite having no desire to. He is not above mocking these people, even going as far as sending Bonggang a picture of a trash can when he asks where his friend is. However, he thinks that he is the only one who has a right to abuse him and kills one of Bonggang's "friends" for turning his back on the latter. Eventually, he wishes to become Bonggang's friend and asks for him to help him in his crimes because they are both able to see the worst in people (Bonggang due to his mind-reading abilities.).

Hun is very confident that he can get away with his crimes, even sometimes playing games with his victims. Often, he doesn't even bother killing witnesses to his crimes because he doesn't feel the need too. He generally relies on his tracks being covered up by his right-hand man, Donghun Shin. He also used his wealth to buy a building, solely to hide bodies. Of course, however, Hun eventually he loses his composure and makes a considerable mess, letting himself be caught.

Hun easily switches between his sadistic and innocent side as shown when he snaps out of his murderous rage when he sees that something is troubling Bonggang.

It is later revealed that Hun is acting on his past trauma of witnessing his mother get killed by his family. He is plagued by these nightmares and wishes to enact revenge on his family due to this. Deep down, Hun just wishes to live a quiet life and be loved by everyone, even stating that he doesn't enjoy murdering people. He also isn't interested in inheriting his father's business, unlike his sister, likely due to hating his father. He seems too genuinely want to be Bonggang's friend before he learns he's trying to expose him.

Biography[]

Past[]

As a child, Hun was raised into a wealthy family alongside his older sister, Yunha. He lived with his kind mother, who he believed was always right. She taught him to get along with his sister at one point. Unfortunately, one day his mother got sick and while in this state, she reminded Hun to always respect others even if they hurt him, which he didn't understand since people still hated him. Around that time, Hun developed the ideology that if he "removed" these people in advance, there would be nobody to hate him.

While his mother was in the hospital, he went on as usual, while his sister looked at him differently and his father ignored him not. Unfortunately, the mother's state was putting a strain on his family's business, so his father and sister strangled their mother to death with Hun witnessing and being traumatized by this act. His father then sent him to a mental asylum.

Hun Jo's thoughts: No. Forget what she said. There are many more evil people in the world than you think. There are people who feign ignorance when they see those in need... those who are quick to take what belongs to others... people who pretend to be kind but betray others when things so south. The harder you try to be a good person, the more other people will try to take advantage of you.
Hun Jo: So... what should I do?
Hun Jo's thoughts: Kill them. So innocent people like your mother aren't sacrificed. Clean the streets.
~ Hun Jo hallucinating his mother while in the asylum

After two years, Hun pretended to be reformed so he could be let out and turned into the cold-blooded killer he is now. He started exercising his physical strength as well as planning out his murders. Once he felt ready, he made his first victim a bully at his school named Sanga Gweon. Unfortunately for Hun, Sanga's next door neighbor was alerted by the noise and wanted to come in. Hun panicked and burned the house down. He escaped and the crime was pinned on her brother, Ikhyeon, who would later wish revenge upon Hun. Hun decided that was too close and he needed an assistant so he hired Donghun Shin who would clean up the bodies. Hun went on to target bullies, neighborhood gangsters, rude customers, drunk drivers, sex offenders, con-artists, abusive parents, industrial spies, corrupt police, and other morally-bankrupt figures, wish for there to be no more victims like his mother. He also vowed to kill his father one day.

Hun eventually went on to target a soccer coach who would sexualize female students who wanted a spot on the team. One of the girls, Eungyeong was a victim of this abuse, so he informed her of the coach's crimes and handed her a knife to murder the hostage. He continued to use her fragile mental state for his advantage and took her on as an accomplice.
