Villain Overview

Even a man has two fists, Marc Spector. How arrogant must you be to assume a god, our god, would only have one.
~ Hunter's Moon to Moon Knight in Moon Knight Vol 9 #3.
I am still not certain whether you are fit for your title. I am not certain that I even like you at all. But all the same: We are brothers.
~ Hunter's Moon to Moon Knight after healing him from his wounds in Moon Knight Vol 9 #6.
No. No. I did attempt to kill the vampires, innocent though they may have been and brave though they proved themselves. I was blinded by my own hatred. I am a fist of Khonshu. But I am also a person. And a person may change. Learn. Can a story?
~ Hunter's Moon to Stained Glass Scarlet in Moon Knight Vol 9 #8.
You need to listen to me, brother. I've been trying to tell you all night. My latest resurrection was... taxing. I did not come back as I should have, not wholly. Imprisoned, our father's power has waned. He must be free to work his miracles. He sent me back with a message: "The next time one of my sons dies while I am imprisoned... I cannot resurrect him."
~ Hunter's Moon warning Moon Knight what will happen if one of them dies with Khonshu imprisoned in Moon Knight Vol 9 #19.

Doctor Badr, better known as the Hunter's Moon and briefly Dr. Moon, when taking over Marc Spector's Midnight Mission, Is a major character in Moon Knight Vol 9, the current run of the Moon Knight comic series. Biography[]

Moon Knight Vol. 9[]

Born in Luxor, Egypt, Badr was the son of two unnamed doctors. He grew up to be a doctor himself. As a child, he was serious, stern and didn't believe in deities. He studied the Qur'an and Hadith but didn't believe in higher entities as he felt no spiritual connection.

During one night, he was attacked by vampires. But survived due to Khonshu's intervention. Badr learned to worship Khonshu, who appointed Badr as one of his fists and priests. When Moon Knight stopped worshipping Khonshu after the Age of Khonshu event and established his Midnight Mission, Badr moved into a nearby clinic, stalking and watching Moon Knight.

After Moon Knight took in people infected with vampirism, Badr terrorized nightwalkers to get to Moon Knight, who Badr defeated. Badr tried to kill the vampires in Moon Knight's Midnight Mission due to vampires being enemies of Khonshu and to set Marc Spector back on the path to worshipping and serving Khonshu as Hunter's Moon felt he need to remove all "distractions" in Moon Knight's life, before Moon Knight arrived and beat up Badr, despite him having all the previous experiences of Khonshu's fists.

When Moon Knight gets wounded by Zodiac, who blew up the Midnight Mission and is forced to escape due to Hunter's Moon's arrival. Hunter's Moon heals Moon Knight while telling him his early life. Hunter's Moon acknowledges Reese's bravery.

When Marc Spector gets imprisoned by the Kingpin in the Devil's Reign event, Badr temporarily uses the alias "Dr. Moon" and takes over the Midnight Mission temporarily stationed in a bar. There Badr states how Mr. Knight is "indisposed of" at the moment and that he is the current "guy". One case that arrives states how Stained Glass Scarlet, who previously died 2 years prior had suddenly returned and was taking on vigilante activities again. Hunter's Moon investigates and discovers Stained Glass Scarlet has been turned into a goddess due to people's belief in her. Hunter's Moon summons Khonshu to deal with her and escapes. Hunter's Moon reports to Reese, Moon Knight's vampire assistant that Stained Glass Scarlet cannot truly die due to now being a goddess. Reese admits to Hunter's Moon that it will take some time to forgive him for trying to kill her. Moon Knight eventually breaks out of Kingpin's captivity and returns as the leader of the Midnight Mission, eventually getting the House of Shadows to replace the ruins Zodiac left it as.

Moon Knight and Tigra discover his doctor, Sterman has been captured by Zodiac and left Jigsaw in New Jersey to watch over and eventually kill her when Moon Knight approaches. Zodiac meanwhile, captures Hunter's Moon and threatens the entire neighborhood as well as Hunter's Moon if Reese does not exit the Midnight Mission. Soldier, an ex-hydra agent impersonates Mr. Knight and gets shot by Zodiac when Reese goes right in front of Soldier to shield him. Unfortunately, the bullet went through Reese and into Solder. Moon Knight with previous Fists of Khonshu arrive from New Jersey due to using a gateway from Khonshu. Moon Knight kicks Zodiac who, surprised by Moon Knight and the other Fists attempts to run and set off car bombs to blow the neighborhood up. Zodiac gets assaulted by Reese. Meanwhile, Hunter's Moon frees himself from his chains and speaks in the High Temple-Speech of Khonshu to send the Fists back to their resting area. Zodiac gets defeated by Reese and Moon Knight.

During a conversation in his mind with her other personalities: Steven Grant and Jake Lockley, Moon Knight gets attacked by mysterious assassins Nimean and Grand Mal. Hunter's Moon and Tigra save him. Marc agrees with Steven and Jake to investigate both assassins. Steven and Jake discover the assassins are working for the structure, the organization who turned the people Marc has been protecting into vampires, including Reese. They also discover the Structure doesn't go into Chinatown due to it already being occupied with another vampire faction as vampires are territorial.

Marc as Mr. Knight, Reese and Soldier go into Chinatown, Marc initially told Hunter's Moon about his Dissociative Identity Disorder and offered Badr to join them in their venture to Chinatown but Badr refuses as vampires are monsters and enemies of Khonshu. And monsters are to be destroyed as per Khonshu's orders. Hunter's Moon instead opts to investigate Nimean and Grand Mal, however, when he encounters them, they viciously murder him, shoving crowbars in him and snapping his neck. Moon Knight finds his corpse and tracks down Nimean and Grand Mal, he drags them to the Midnight Mission where they get buried by supernatural pillars. Nimean and Grand Mal beg Moon Knight to be spared for killing his sidekick by offering money. However, Moon Knight reveals Hunter's Moon isn't his sidekick and that due to being a Fist of Khonshu, Hunter's Moon doesn't die as Hunter's Moon reveals himself to Nimean and Grand Mal.

Moon Knight reveals to Hunter's Moon he knows how to take down The Structure, the organization behind many people being turned into vampire. Moon Knight crashes into a party The Structure was hosting where their leader, the Tutor, was revealing his plans to other vampire nations. Their Soldier and Reese activate the water sprinklers, the water that pours out get consecrated by Moon Knight which burns the vampires their. Moon Knight tells Hunter's Moon to throw him his silver blade, which Hunter's Moon does. Hunter's Moon works with Moon Knight and Reese to defeat the Structure, with Moon Knight killing the Tutor himself.

Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and Hunter's Moon see the swarm of rats combine into a giant machine.
