~ Huron reflecting on the stagnant state of the Imperium. |
Huron Blackheart, also known as the Blood Reaver, is a powerful chaos space marine pirate lord and leader of the Red Corsairs. He was formerly the Chapter Master of the once loyalist Astral Claws space marine chapter, which eventually became corrupted and cut it's allegiance with the Imperium, officially turning Renegade and reforming itself into the Red Corsairs. He is the ruler of the planet Badab Primaris, which he rules with an iron fist, earning him the title of Tyrant of Badab.

Powers and Abilities[]
- The Tyrant's Claw: The Tyrant's Claw is a large, bear-like bionic weapon that was forged specifically to replace Huron's lost right arm. It consists of a bionic shoulder, arm and hand which increases his already impressive strength and is also combined with a set of serried talons, each swathed in a crackling disruption field, much like his axe. It also features an in-built heavy flamer which produces bursts of hot fire directly from his bionic palm, making it seem like he is summoning blasts from his hands.
- Power Axe: In his left hand Huron wields a fearsome, armor-sundering power axe. The blade of the axe is sheathed in the lethal haze of a disruptive energy field which can disrupt solid matter and molecular bonds, allowing it to cut through most things (including flesh, bone and armor) with ease. The energy field can easily be switched on and off with the touch of a hidden button.
- Corrupted Terminator Armour: As former master of a well-resourced and equipped Space Marine Chapter, Lugft Huron had access to a plethora of arms and wargear of the highest quality, included among which were a number of suits of armour of various types. Perhaps most famous of these was what was known as his Armour of Pride - a heavily customised set of Terminator armour adapted and augmented for him by the former Astral Claws Master Artificer Armenneus Valtex. Since his fall to Chaos, his armour has changed drastically due to long exposure to the warp as well as displaying the usual Chaos iconography and fetishes. The Armor is said to be durable enough to withstand anti-tank missiles with ease as well as high-powered energy weapons such as plasma rifles (which fires bolts of superheated energy as hot as a sun) and is all but immune to small-arms fire.
- Iron Halo: The Iron Halo is a prestigious honor badge and force field generating device which takes the form of a halo usually given to high-ranking officials of a loyalist space marine chapter, but can also be given to warriors who have shown exceptional marksmanship, bravery or some other great deed. It also serves as a protective device as it emits a very strong gravitic conversion field around it's wearer which is able to protect Huron from attacks that would slay even him outright, several times over. This includes Lascannons (powerful laser cannons which can reliably pierce through most types of armor with relative ease) and missiles of all varieties. It is normally mounted on either the backpack of the armor or in the gorget.
- The Hamadrya: The Hamadyra is a chaos-spawned creature of unknown nature and origin that acts as the familiar to Huron Blackheart. Its exact appearance is unknown; sometimes it is invisible, and when it chooses to appear it can be avian, reptilian, or mammalian in shape. Similarly, the gifts it bestows on Blackheart are uncertain and often changeable. At times it endows him with various psychic powers such as the warptime ability normally wielded by Chaos Sorcerers, which alters the flow of time around Huron, allowing for attacks with supernatural precision. At others, it appears to shield him from psychic attack or detection, similar to a null rod. Rumors are that it also allows Huron to read others' thoughts and/or memories, and he has thus evaded assassination a hundred times over.
