Hydro was a Lin Kuei Ninja that serves as the partner of Bi Han and The Lin Kuei Master, He works as a secondary character that appears In the 1995 comic Mortal Kombat: Blood & Thunder as an Antagonist alongside Bi Han and In the Web-Series Mortal Kombat: Legacy He works as a test unit that is in charge to train or kill other cyborgs.
He was portrayed by Shane Warren Jones In MK: Legacy.
Biography[]
Blood and Thunder[]
Hydro Is a young lin kuei ninja that was a close friend of the original Sub-Zero and the right-hand man of The Lin Kuei Grandmaster. Hydro went on a trip with Bi-Han to fight against the Outworld, Participating In the First Mortal Kombat tournament alongside him to honor the lin kuei and bring victory and honor to their clan. Hydro's main ability is, by most would guess by his name, is hydrokiensis, or controlling water. One of his main abilities is to fire a wave that was cold enough to freeze his foes or transforming himself on total water so that he can damaged by any physical attacks.
Before the tournament started, Both Hydro and Bi Han were targeted by the deadly Scorpion, Who came back from the dead after being killed by Bi Han, Thanks to that, The lin kuei duo would have to cover their backs In order to stay safe from the shirai ryu´s ninja, In the middle of the tournament, Hydro got himself into a fight with Johnny Cage and A Earthrealmer where he killed the last one in the process, Something that make Johnny angry and due to this they started to got anger against each other. Later, Hydro, Sub-Zero and the other combatants were transported into a giant tower, Where they started to be attacked by Prince Goro, Fortunally, Hydro managed to survive alongside the others, However, He would be tracked down by Scorpion, Forcing himself to fight him.
Sadly for Hydro, Scorpion would eventully kill him after a duel, This was part of a plan to kill everyone Sub-Zero ever loved before killing the ninja himself.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy[]
During the events of Mortal Kombat: Legacy, Hydro is transformed into a cyborg, as he fights Cyrax and Sektor to show off how powerful the other two are. Using similar skills to when he was alive, plus the other Cyber Lin Kuei tricks of using electricity to boost his attacks.
At the end, Thanks to a quick move and distraction, he is decapitated by cyrax, despite him seeming to have the advantage in the start of the fight.
Appearance[]
In Blood & Thunder, Hydro has the appearance of a young man, Which means he could possibly be a teenager or a young adult, He also has an outfit similar to sub-zero, Except that he has two katanas In his back, A more darkened blue color In his ninja suit and his eyes have a different color, But It Is worth knowing that this small details are sometimes ignored by the writers of the comics, Since there are panels where hydro looks exactly like sub-zero.
In MK:Legacy, Hydro has a robotic suit similar to cyrax and sektor, Except that he has a lightened blue color on It, He also can Invoke electric volts out of his hands and armor.

- Despite Hydro being a Non-Canon character, He Is still well-known by some of the MK Fans.
- In MK: Legacy, It was mentioned that he was at the age of 50 when he was turned into a cyborg, which means he Is the oldest Cyber Lin Kuei member. He is also one of the first Cyber Lin Kuei.
- Hydro was one of the many characters that was created completely by malibu comics, This was principally because at those times, The MK lore was very confusing and too short for a comic, so because of this, the company that created the comic began to fabricate their own story, which was obviously not loyal to the events of the first game.
- It Is unknown If Hydro from MK: Legacy has the same backstory as the one from Blood & Thunder.
- Hydro and Rain have almost the same abilities, And they debuted In the same year In the MK Universe (1995).
