Ialai Sadeas is major antagonist in The Stormlight Archive, by Brandon Sanderson. She was the wife of Torol Sadeas and sought to help him undermine Dalinar Kholin. After her husband's death, she continued his work.
Biography[]
Ialai was married to Highprince Torol Sadeas. When her husband was helping Gavilar Kholin conquer ALethkar, she helped Navani rule Kholinar.
During the war against the Listenders, Ialai helped her husband undermine the other Highprinces, especially Dalinar Kholin. Ialai used a network of spies to find out about Dalinar's visions from The Stormfather. She released these visions to make everyone think Dalinar was insane. She tried to have Dalinar assassinated by having him thrown off his horse, but he survived.
When the army moved to Urithiru, Torol was murdered by Adolin. Ialai sought to find the culprit but failed. She named Meridas Amaram the new Highprince of house Sadeas. She then tried to have Sadeas' army fight against the Knights Radiant, but they failed and Amaram was killed.
Ialai went into hiding. She became the leader of the remnants of the Sons of Honor. She was aware the Ghostbloods were watching her and was afraid they would kill her. Shallan approached Ialai in disguise. Ialai thought she was a Ghostblood agent sent to kill her. Ialai insisted she was trying to protect the throne for Gavinor and thought Dalinar was the traitor. Shallan had her arrested. However, Radiant took over Shallan's body and poisoned Ialai.
