Ilkubo is a major antagonist of the anime series Futari wa Pretty Cure. He is the leader and most powerful of the Dark Five and the Dark King's right-hand man. He is also the final general sent by Dark King to fight the Pretty Cure.
He was voiced by Issei Futamata in Japanese and Jonathan Love in English.
Appearance[]
Ilkubo is large, pale and shaven with pointed ears and dark-rimmed eyes that resemble those of Kiriya. He wears a white robe and carries the purple Prism Stone. When he returns however, he appears as a gigantic indigo creature with red eyes, and his robe is now tattered. In his final form, he appears as a gigantic muscular silver creature with new mouth and facial markings that match the side of his chest.
Personality[]
As the leader of the Dark Five and Dark King's right-hand man, Ilkubo is strictly authoritarian and scolds his underlings for misbehaving, while reminding others of Dark King's trust. He also tries to please Dark King by being utterly loyal to him, but Dark King ultimately doesn't have any gratitute for it as he kills him eventually just because Dark King fears that Ilkubo may damage the stones.
History[]
Ilkubo is the leader of the Dark Five, and Dark King's most trusted minion. When Pisard fails too many times, Kiriya and Gekidrago makes fun of him. However, Ilkubo scolds them whilst reminding Pisard that Dark King is counting on him. However, after Pisard, Gekidrago, Poisony and Kiriya all fail to the Pretty Cure and result in the loss of four stones, Dark King decides to send Ilkubo as a last resort.
Ilkubo arrives to the Garden of Rainbows and starts to fight the Cures, but his fights only become serious in episode 22. Although he is defeated and loses the last stone as well, he manages to steal all the seven. Ilkubo later returns and takes them to the Dusk Zone, before transforming into a monstrous form. However, while he is fighting the Cures, Dark King kills him because he fears that Ilkubo can damage the stones.
