The Illagers are supporting antagonists in the 2025 fantasy action-adventure film A Minecraft Movie, based on Mojang Studios' Minecraft franchise.
They are a hostile version of the villagers that reside in the Woodland Mansion and guard the Earth Crystal, which was sought by Henry, Steve, and Garrett Garrison in order to complete the Earth Cube.
Appearance[]
Both the Vindicators and Evokers look just like their video game counterparts. However, they are given upgraded realistic design to match the rest of the Overworld mobs.
Personality[]
Biography[]
The Illagers are first mentioned in the film by Steve when strategizing a plan to infiltrate into the Woodland Mansion and snag their Earth Crystal. While Henry would be the one to sneak to the top floor to retrieve the Earth Crystal, Steve and Garrett would act as the distractions for the Illagers by performing the Birthday Rap. However, this diversion only work with minimal success as some Vindicators notice Henry sneaking up to the top floor while the remaining Illagers close in on Steve and Garrett before taking them to their ring to fight the Chicken Jockey. All Illager cheer for the jockey when it thrashes Garrett. However, while Henry eventually obtains the Earth Crystal, Garrett and Steve defeat the Chicken Jockey and all three make a bolt out of the mansion while being chased by the Illagers.
