Illagers are supporting antagonists in the Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts.
They are a group of hostile mobs that originated in the video game Minecraft as the villainous and barbaric counterparts of the passive and friendly mobs, Villagers. Unlike most of the hostile mobs, they act collaboratively and seek to raid the villages they come across. So far, there are two Illager groups appeared throughout the series.
Biography[]
"The Killer Bunny"[]
During the fight between the Killer Bunny and the Second Coming, the Bunny flicks a leaver, which opens a door and allows Vindicators and an Evoker into the room. The Second Coming fights off both the Vindicators and the rabbit, eventually dropping a chandelier on the Vindicators and then throwing it at the rabbit, pinning it down. The Second Coming then turns its attention to the Evoker, who uses magic to steal its sword. The Evoker spawns Vexes, but the Second Coming grabs one of the Vindicator's axes and kills them and the Evoker with it.
"The Raid"[]
After Yellow, Blue, and King Orange left the village in "Titan Ravager", they and their crew swarmed the place, making a cell and imprisoning the Villagers. Yellow and Blue come back through the portal after escaping their ultimate fight with King Orange, with his command block in their hands. They are distraught at the sight of this raid, until four illagers come up from behind and in front, taking them at gun point with their crossbows and shuffle them to the cell.
Yellow and Blue assemble the Villagers to fight against them: Yellow takes the Engineers to make a staff for him, while Blue gets the rest to collect resources for weapons and trains three Villagers into being fighters.
After they reunite, two Illagers stay stationed at the cell as they go to check on them. The fighters bust down the door with Blue behind them and start fighting the Illagers down in the Village. The Raid Captain is informed and sends down their right-hands down, the Evoker and Illusioner. They go down to the Village and start fighting Blue and the Musketeers and eventually win. Just then, Yellow and the Fletcher come in with the Titan Ravager they domesticated. The Raid Captain flees in fear, their men following them.
"Lucky Block Staff"[]
Several illagers make appearance as the minions of the Orb, attempting to kill the stick figures.
"Hardcore Manhunt"[]
A raid group make a brief appearance as they are killed by the lava created by Yellow via the command block staff, defending the village.
Membership[]
- The Raid Captain - The leader of the raiders in "The Raid", carrying an Illager banner while riding a Ravager.
- Pillagers - Common illagers who carry crossbows as weapons.
- Evokers - Magicians who are able to summon fangs and vexes.
- Vindicators - Common illagers who wield iron axes as weapons.
- Illusioners - Uncommon illagers who are able to use illusion in combat in addition to wielding crossbow, having the ability of duplicating themselves.
- Ravagers - Large and brutish monsters serving as the mounts for illagers.
- Vexes - Small flying entities who are summoned by evokers. They carry iron swords.
